@rooster You do look heckin cute! But also - mood. Did it for 2 - 3 years and finally got to a point I just couldn't anymore. Blegh

@alice @rooster It is permanent, but you need to hit the different cycles of hair growth - so they'll clear an area and then need to go back. I was doing both face and then later bottom surgery prep, so that meant a lot more too.

Part of the reason it became a longer process too was that I had to decrease from one 2-hour session a week to one every other week and then once a month because my nervous system had increasingly worse reactions as HRT made my skin thinner and more sensitive (I really urge people to do it early in HRT journey!).

I also have really weirdly shaped blond hairs that curly and stubborn. And I had also done six months of laser hair removal for my darkest hairs on my face, which was not permanent, and meant I had a whole new crop of hairs begin to reemerge like 2 years after that.

My situation was weird and not typical, honestly. And the speed and skill of your electrologist matters (I've had 4 different ones of different skill and speed).

@alice @rooster i really am happy with the results for my face overall! It's definitely worth it and makes a permanent, deep impact on most od us that helps us feel at home in our faces. Especially as it removes the dark roots that cause things like beard shadow. Definitely suggest it...just know it's a process and takes time

@alice Galvanic is permanent, once it's a successful "hit". You don't get a 100% hit rate though it's generally pretty high - the skill of your electrologist definitely plays into it.

Do be prepared for discomfort, and let them know if they have the juice cranked up too high for your tolerance. Overjuicing can leave marks, so you don't want to just "toughen it out" (guess how I know...). And be prepared to be surprised at just how many individual hairs there are 😩
