@GottaLaff Nope, lady. (Cannon) ...just too difficult for your dumb -not remotely qualified to preside over this case- ass to understand. God help us all!
@GottaLaff Indeed, very complex and difficult for the peasants, I mean, lay people to understand, no doubt. I bet it happens a lot. In fact, I found an example of a case (eerily similar to tfg’s) that also brimming with legal nuance and stunning complexity: ⤵️
@GottaLaff Its only complicated for her because she can’t figure out any way to interpret the law or twist the legal proceedings in a way where Trump isn’t plainly guilty of illegally retaining top secret classified information. 🙄🤷♂️
@GottaLaff
Donald Trump took top secret documents home that were property of the US government and refused to give them back when requested in violation of the Presidential Documents law. How hard is that to understand?
@GottaLaff
Holy moly! This isn't difficult to understand. Under the Presidential Records Act, intelligence reports provided to a president are not the property of the president. They belong to the citizens and have to go the National Archives. A president can keep diaries, or notes they've created. It's very narrow. "Were these docs produced by a national intelligence agency? Yes. Did you find them in the National Archives? No, in defendants bathroom. Did he have permission to have them? No." I believe Bill Barr calls that toast.
@GottaLaff
I knew that. I just can’t believe she is doing it so obviously. It is making me crazy. this case should have been over and don by now. And the foot dragging interference by the insurrectionist wing of SCOTUS isn’t helping matters.
I remember that well. A lot of people just said they're going to move to Canada or France, or wherever, if Trump got in, but I knew you were serious, that it wasn't just venting anger and frustration. It was prescience.
Yep. It sucks, but makes good sense. If he tried -- with anything other than 100% certainty he can win the argument at the 11th--and then fails, he will tank the case since it will still be in front of her (among other things).
Side-note: my 20-something daughter asked me the same question yesterday, and we had this exact convo 🤣
@GottaLaff Just spitballing here, but maybe the legal nuances of the case are too difficult for Judge Cannon to understand. She should step aside and let a real judge take over.
@GottaLaff If she (of all people!) can understand them enough to rule in the case, I have no worries any person of average intelligence will be able to understand the legal nuances well enough to render a verdict.
