@philip_cardella Patagonia makes fantastic outdoor wear, but it's kind of expensive. Nonetheless, I bought a jacket at least in part because of their environmental goodness.
@philip_cardella@splott@ai6yr Patagonia has semi-annual sales 2x a year (30-50 percent off). That's where I pick up most of my gear from them. You can check their website under the "web specials" category for discounts throughout the year too. 👍
They have a whole "store" stocked with "worn wear", their own products that have been traded in and/or repaired. Some of that stuff is still not cheap, but it's cheaper, and another example of their commitment to sustainability. Also lots of Patagonia gear on eBay, etc. It really is a great company. I just sent them a 30 year old garment of their and they're honoring the warranty.
@philip_cardella@ai6yr Their stuff lasts forever, so there’s an active second-hand market as well, including one officially sponsored by Patagonia. It’s cheaper that way.
