on the date format: it's great when it's fully written out, but I specifically prefer the 2000 version of ISO 8601: it allows for a --02-24 format for month and date, and the extra dash clarifies that the year is missing

I assume you're talking about the afsluitdijk, the straight part connecting the two land masses at the North. It's actually a big dyke that you can drive on, it's a critical part of the land reclamation system and basically the reason flevoland exists, it's cool.
