Yeah full disclaimer: This is a screenshot of something my friend posted and not my experience. I'd imagine it would hurt, but maybe I could practice it with ... a very trusted friend lol
Police “Flexicuffs” are legit, and designed to prevent this technique from working. The ‘smash against hard surface to break’ works on regular zip-ties, the kind a kidnapper or rapist buys from the hardware store
Picking handcuffs is indeed trivial, and basically all models are vulnerable to shimming under the ratchet pawl as well as using the (nearly) universal keys that are cheaply available online
About the possible complaining: I would say this is the perfect amount of detail/suggestion that can appeal just about everyone. You want to feel cute by wearing a short pleated skirt? Win! Care to view someone in a short pleated skirt? Also a win! Don't care to wear or view someone in a short pleated skirt? You are entitled to that opinion but probably not an active member of the community, or appreciate some peoples' desire to do one or both of these things. You win as well, And good will to all of the above.
And thinking that inclusion is about offence, and refusing to not be a shit to people either way, makes you at the very least, a wilfully ignorant ass..
Maybe I'm part of the problem, but in my day-to-day life, I even hear women calling each other "dude" all the time, and it seems like it's become a non-gendered term.
Even the Wikipedia article says this:
By the late 20th to early 21st century, dude had gained the ability to be used in the form of expression, whether that be disappointment, excitement, or loving and it also widened to be able to refer to any general person no matter race, sex, or culture.
I figured if anyone was killed by this device it would cause a running mess of cascade lawsuits, even if it served as intended and killed the one who signed the TOS.
Then consider if the goggles glitched and activated on a false positive or if someone's kid tried the goggles on for a game.
This is why piracy deterrent payloads only extend to humiliation or stern warnings (rather than destruction of data or hardware). We can't restrict activations to perfectly just situations.
Something to think about as US law enforcement continues to kill Americans at four-plus a day.
