In the original comic, the hexagon is off-panel in panel 3. Also several speech bubbles have been moved around. Who edited these things and why? Also super lame to crop out the comic's title.

Kolrami ,

They appear to be moved around because the original creator put the text boxes in intuitive places. It's instinct to read from top to bottom of both text bubbles are centered at the same spot.

Outside of the crop, the edit is a big improvement to readability for me. Trying to read the original was really confusing for a second.

Kolrami ,

Yeah, that's what I meant. I accidentally wrote the opposite. Added the word.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson confirmed speculation he’s in Russia for an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We’re in journalism,” he said in a video posted to social media. “Our duty is to inform people.”

Carlson was first spotted in Moscow over the weekend attending a performance at the Bolshoi Theater. … the 54-year-old right-wing provocateur made clear Tuesday that was his plan and offered an explanation.

“Two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed,” Carlson said of Russia’s war with Ukraine, which began in February 2022. “They have no real idea what’s happening in this region.”

Carson also thanked Elon Musk “to his great credit” for allowing his unedited Putin interview to be posted on social media platform X, which began hosting Carlson’s content after Fox News dumped the former primetime host in April. …

According to Carlson, he’s not interviewing the Russian leader because “we love Vladimir Putin,” but rather because “we love the United States.”

Carlson has been heavily criticized for numerous comments he’s made sympathetic to…Putin …

“Has Putin ever called me a racist?” Carlson, whose racially charged rhetoric is well-documented, asked Fox News viewers in 2022. “Has he threatened to get me fired for disagreeing with him? These are fair questions, and the answer to all of them is ‘No.’ Vladimir Putin didn’t do any of that.”

Russian state television has also been known to praise Carlson’s work. In 2020…Mother Jones reported that the Kremlin told Russian media outlets “it is essential” they promote reporting by Carlson that’s critical of the U.S.

Since leaving television, Carlson has posted interviews with former President Donald Trump, alleged human trafficker Andrew Tate and fraudster Larry Sinclair, who claims to have had “a night of crack cocaine-fueled sex” with former President Barack Obama.

I'm honestly glad Linus learned to tone down this kind of talk or at least reserve it for situations in which it is more merited.

Because while in the majority of instances he was correct, he left a lot of folks feeling like The Dude from The Big Lebowski.

You're not wrong, Walter. You're just an asshole.

For a long time it was a particularly hostile environment to people trying to learn the ropes of open source contribution.

However, on the flip side, I am also glad he hasn't turned it off completely, because while it is important to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, sometimes creating that welcoming environment involves sternly telling someone off about their behavior, when that behavior is unwelcoming or generally unhelpful.

Anyway, applause for Linus for showing emotional and social growth.

i agree with you except here

Wrong. Dead wrong.

In the email chain subsequent to this exchange Linus even addressed the fact that the contributor would be better off learning about kernel development by focusing on the removal of unnecessary code and clean up.

No one jumps into kernel development knowing everything.

Maintainers need to teach people, not just about the culture and ethos, but about best practices and Linus had taught people constantly.

He has also learned a lot from others. To suggest otherwise is to think that Linus knew everything about kernel development back when he first began Linux development.

So when one of them is voted off, does a screen plate report the exiled contestant is gay? Because if they're all typical straights and the comedy is based on them being at least a bit homophobic.

This reminds me of classic USMC gay chicken, which seems to be a conspiracy to turn all our fresh trained marines totally gay questioning.
