When I use the internet to learn, I don't want to have to spend 2 minutes watching an advert, then try to decipher an accent I can barely understand whilst a 15 year old speed runs the task whilst seemingly skipping crucial steps in a video....

This is (lucky me) the first time I have seen such clear evidence of AI on a learning website and it really shocked me. I am scared of what lies ahead of the internet regarding AI enshittification......
I found a box of CD-Roms and floppy disks in my mum's basement and damnit, I want to play them! I could use emulators, DosBox or VMs but it's never quite the same as having the real thing, so between an eBay mobo and a box of old parts I managed to build my new gaming rig to cover 1990-2005....

When I got hooked on Morrowind in middle school it occurred to me to quicksave before a test at school....
I see posts talking about good BIFL items but I don't hear much about the other side of products that are bad or products you bought but don't even use.
I want to see if I can get a spark of the "old internet" back by making a starting page for myself with all kinds of cool websites. But not sure where to start because Google obviously will not work for this....
