‘Will I ever retire?’: millennials wonder what’s on the other side of middle age ( www.theguardian.com )

Claire*, 42, was always told: “Follow your dreams and the money will follow.” So that’s what she did. At 24, she opened a retail store with a friend in downtown Ottawa, Canada. She’d managed to save enough from a part-time government job during university to start the business without taking out a loan....

My plan is to open a kiosk once I retire im a night owl anyways and it's not too physically demanding.

I started counting calories. And it's works pretty well. Maybe give it a try.

Nice shot

I love flakes road to... Without mechanics videos. My mechanics suck after thousands of hours playing the game but focusing on non mechanical aspects of the game really helped me. Still miss open nets though. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

Don't you all count your knuckles for that?

I think this is one of the few entry points for other Russians to start a conversation and maybe question your propaganda based selfimage

Not in general, never was. But in certain places definitely, like has stations along the Autobahn, train stations and some department stores.

whome ,

In general

The funny thing is this is not a new situation this has been happening continuously over all our lifespans not only in Palestine. And now it's not even done directly by the US military which has been the case the last decades. Activism on all fronts always has to be the way to go.

I bought my first TFT around that time. it was a pretty good eizo but it cost me 1000 Euro 😫

How would it be beneficial? We are running head first in an existential crisis, where Trump and the GOP want to put a full stop on everything that tries to fight that. And yes no country with a significant emissions footprint is doing enough, far from it. I'm convinced that we'll live in more or less dystopian scenarios within the next 20-30 years. And if I didn't have children I wished these days would come really soon, so all those ignorant MFers would have to live in it.

We are on our way, problem is, the rich and the asocial are going to survive...

I would argue the enjoyment of food products are constructed by more then just the ingredients. Packaging and other psychological effects matter. I for example really enjoy my local cola if it comes in a 330ml bottle but if I drink it from a 500ml bottle I enjoy it remarkably less.

The HP pre 3 was excellent in every aspect, at the time. build quality was great. Still a great fidget toy. WebOS was really something. It's a shame HP dropped it.

I think women should start pissing standing so my fellow fragile penis owner, who think standing while pissing is the only option, learn how filthy a toilet gets if you don't put your parts in the bowl.

What should I add to my '90s website?

So I'm currently toying around with NeoCities, and decided to trial it by building your classic mid '90s Geocities/Tripod/Angelfire pastiche website.

Some of the most important elements are already in place.

Tile background? Large font? Heading in bright pink with a shadow? Unusual colour choices? Random cat gifs? Under construction gif? Check! Check! Check!

In the true spirit of the '90s DIY web, some more pages (including the links page) are coming soon.

(I'm thinking of adding a page dedicated to either Britney or a nu-metal band.)

You can see the page so far here: https://that90ssite.neocities.org/

There are a few things that I want to add to make it complete, and I'm looking for suggestions.

The first, is to embed a midi file that plays automatically. Any suggestions on the best way of doing this?

Second, it's just not going to be complete without a guestbook.

Third, any webring suggestions?

Fourth, what's the best way of adding a java chat room in 2024?

Finally, anything else that really needs to be a part of a great '90s website?

UPDATE: Thanks for all the feedback! I've added more annoying GIFs, a guestbook, a links page, and a cyber cat hangout.

UPDATE 2: And added even more gifs, an amazing Amiga demo, and a ton of links.

That cat is way too high res

The best thing for me: I cut me sm consumption to a fifth of what it used to be. A few minutes Lemmy, a few minutes mastodon and I'm done. There is just enough stuff on here to scratch my itch for some content.

whome ,

Biden and pence are standing one step higher

whome ,

Okay the real question, is there a good version of this game genre?

whome ,

That's going to solve pretty quick, bc transcriber is one of the first jobs that's going to be obsolete or at least very niche.

whome ,

You can run a fleet of ev on regenerative energy, that doesn't work with converting engine vehicles. BUT the problem is it makes no sense if we just exchange all the ce cars with ev ones. We need to stay away from individual transportation solutions towards public transportation.

You know the answer, she's not "white".
