Crazy story - my dad went to the hospital with chest pain he’d been having for several days. The ER docs ran blood work and ekg and concluded it wasn’t a heart attack. He started complaining that the pain was getting a lot worse, moving into his jaw. The docs gave him some morphine and he said it wasn’t doing anything for the pain. So they hook him back up to the ekg. While they are watching the ekg, he has a heart attack, which they then confirmed with bloodwork.

So yeah. Hope your day is going better than that.

@molly0xfff @wesley83 I’ve still got the Handspring Visor that I used twenty years ago. I found it a few months back, put fresh batteries in it and it actually worked. Took it to a restaurant and calculated the tip with it, just to giggle at my old geeky self.

Let's be clear. There is no place for antisemitic harassment or violence on campuses or anywhere else. None.

But protesting the slaughter in Gaza is not in itself antisemitic, and having armed police arrest peaceful student demonstrators is never acceptable.

@RosePuckey @skyfire747 @MaJ1 @weirdfolks @actuallyautistic I, too am quite often up for two hours in the middle of the night. With my bladder issues, tea is right out for me in that situation, so I often opt for the Benadryl. A whole pill would leave me groggy for 24 hours, so 1/5 to 1/6 of a pill plus a slice of bread to chase it down does the trick for me. Sometimes bread by itself is enough. Wishing you well from California.

Looks like Mastodon's experimental branch is trying stuff out with how you create posts:

-Unlisted post visibility has been renamed to "Quiet Public"
-Mentions/DMs is renamed to "Specific People"
-Polls have visible control for switching from one answer to multiple answers
-Content Warning title bar has been tweaked
-Visibility and language menus more prominent
-Tweaked artwork

Screenshots attached, people on servers running the experimental branch will already be seeing this in action.
