O! The what-ever-it-is have hatched! Wonderful. There was a tight row of 1 cm. of yellow dots on the outside of a window for at least a week or so, and today it looked like this. Meaning: All day. This picture is from this morning and 12 hours later they are still there. It is also hard to see where they should go from this sea of glass.
I thought those eggs belonged to flies, and maybe they are, but the young ones are too small for my eyes and camera.

@Orewoet ooh! Do you have a picture of the intact eggs? might they be ladybirds?

Morning everyone. Four day weeks are such a good thing, and I wish more people had the ability to do them (where appropriate and desirable).

Unfortunately, some things have given me the 'despair at my life having been taken away' feelings, so I'm not doing well right now. I shan't wang on about them here again because it's the same story as many times before.

Also, I had a dream about my Dad being an alcoholic, which is weird, because Dad drank very sparingly and I never saw him even slightly tipsy. Dreams, eh? Odd things.

Great day on The Island, carrying out a test drove flight to assess disturbance amongst the species currently present (no disturbance behaviours seen, which is great!)

The puffins are back too! But best of all, the weather turned so we hopped in the little Rib and bounced back over the waves, getting absolutely soaked with the driving rain.. only to spot a pod of dolphins around the harbour mouth! Too wet by far to risk getting my phone out for a pic tho..

@RolloTreadway you can buy them in bulk cheap, because stamps with pictures on them don't need barcodes - so now we are all getting delightful pictures on our packaging! it's great

There's some bird data I could really use, but all the references I can find to it point to a wikispaces site - wikispaces closed down in 2018 and I don't know here they went!

Happy St Cuthbert's Day! Post your pics of Cuddy's (eider) ducks; they're named for the saint protecting them when he lived as a hermit on Inner Farne off the coast of Northumberland

@RolloTreadway ha! Simpson Sing The Blues was one of the first albums I bought too! Alas the first single I bought (on vinyl so at least that's cool) was Timmy Mallet's Itsy Bitsy etc
