I hope trump wins just to punish biden supporters.

He said, from his cushy position of privilege.

Nope:

Also might be worth considering, I dunno, people of the country he would be president of.

You'd have to ask him.

You're pretty fixated on this huh?

Oh look, you can't. What a surprise.

It's really sad how hard up for a win this guy is that he has to invent his own.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

LMAO

You create an argument against a point that nobody made, and then you claim others are trying to to pivot the conversation.

What a joke.

I can't imagine anyone paying much for comments on Lemmy.

Leaning more towards this guy actually just being this pathetic.

Hey look, I win!

PSA: Docker nukes your firewall rules and replaces them with its own.

I use nftables to set my firewall rules. I typically manually configure the rules myself. Recently, I just happened to dump the ruleset, and, much to my surprise, my config was gone, and it was replaced with an enourmous amount of extremely cryptic firewall rules. After a quick examination of the rules, I found that it was...

My solution to this has been to not forward the ports on individual services at all. I put a reverse proxy in front of them, refer to them by container name in the reverse proxy settings, and make sure they're on the same docker network.

Isn't it interesting how they've just ignored this fact.

Very telling. It's pretty alarming how a few posters on this community are clearly trying to misrepresent things and stir up infighting.

@null@slrpnk.net avatar

If your version of arguing is telling flat out lies and then ghosting when you get called out, then you really shouldn't be surprised when you aren't convincing people.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

There is simply not a hoard of people out here telling people that they are fascists and astroturfers for saying the US president should stop aiding the genocide. None of those comments even come close to demonstrating that.

The mental gymnastics you had to do to spin it like they are is just ridiculous.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

Bolstering lies on social media is your job? Interesting.

Perfect time to teach Biden a lesson by not voting for him -- or so I've been told by those with too much privilege and not enough brainpower.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

And yet I keep being told I'm excusing genocide by voting for Biden in order to stop Trump from killing her.

Lucky. I'm being told that I'm endorsing it for the same reason.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

Agreed. They're dangerous and privileged -- it really doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

That said, a lot of Biden enthusiasts need to stop with the “you also need to say you like him and his politics” crap.

That's certainly not a significantly pervasive mindset -- at least not around here. The general sentiment is "hold your nose and vote for him anyways".

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

I guess being a Muslim and feeling pain when I see a dead baby is “privilege” nowadays.

Weird guess, but no.

Privilege is knowing that not voting for Biden increases the risk of a Trump presidency, and making that choice anyways. The only way it isn't is if you genuinely believe Trump would be better.

Orange man is bad. Of course he is.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

If you're voting for Biden, then you're pretty clearly not the type of person I'm calling privileged, right?

Things wouldn’t have come to this point if morons like you actually spoke up and protested against Biden

Don't call me a moron. And don't claim that I didn't speak out against Biden. Be better than that.

The longer Biden enables Netanyahu, the more his presidency is at risk | Mohamad Bazzi ( www.theguardian.com )

Biden, a supposed foreign policy pragmatist, doesn’t seem bothered that the US is one of the few states that continues to wholeheartedly sustain Israel’s war on Gaza. In fact, Biden has staked his political future on his support for Netanyahu and Israel – and Biden is losing. In this year’s presidential election, where...

Nowhere in that screenshot have I blamed anyone for the Democrat's failure to reverse course.

Did you screenshot the wrong comment?

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

It isn't, but thanks.

Still waiting on the correct screenshot that includes me blaming voters for the Democrat’s failure to reverse course.

Got an ETA on that?

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

The difference being that my promise to vote for Biden would change nothing but your own sense of self-satisfaction

Incorrect. It would directly contribute to the effort to avoid a Trump presidency.

whereas your promise not to vote for Biden unless he reverses course on genocide might actually have a measurable effect on public polocy.

Seems unlikely. What it would definitely do is take away from my ability to contribute to the effort to avoid a Trump presidency.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

Neither am I.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

No, you posted a screenshot without me saying that around that time.

Weird that you're offering English tutoring when you don't seem to have a grasp on it yourself.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

For the entertainment factor, I'm officially taking you up on this.

Your claim:

"Nothing Biden does or doesn’t do will change the fact that you either take action to help prevent a Trump presidency by voting for Biden, or you don’t." == "I blame voters for the Democrat's failure to reverse course"

Go ahead, professor. Walk me through the proof.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

You're fine right up to here:

And finally, assign responsibility to those whom you have decided are accountable

You've suddenly claimed that "the outcome of the election" == "the Democrats’ failure to reverse course "

Not that one follows from the other, but that those words in that order are equivalent sentences.

Please professor, explain how they are equivalent in the same way that "1" == "one".

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

If I voted for Biden anyways, then you wouldn't have convinced me of anything, and therefore that scenario is not applicable to the hypothetical you presented.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

Easy, just replace the == with “is”

"Is" is not a valid replacement for "==" in this context. For your proof to work, you need to prove that they are literally equivalent, and that the words in that order share an exact, equivalent definition.

Go ahead professor, prove it.

null ,
@null@slrpnk.net avatar

whereas your promise not to vote for Biden unless he reverses course on genocide might actually have a measurable effect on public polocy.

And? Unless you’re some kind of DNC talking head then you’re not the person I’m trying to convince.

It was about me, and suddenly now it's not? Flip-flop.
