You can also use a third party launcher. I use Lutris on Linux. The GOG Integration is excellent.

I need a PC that runs with no monitor and gets interfaced with through remote desktop only. I just installed Linux on that machine. It currently must have a keyboard and monitor because if it gets rebooted, it comes to the login screen. The login screen cannot be brought up via remote desktop (RDP through Remmina). I also have so far been unable to find a way to force it to automatically sign in "passwordless" like it used to do with Windows.

This box runs Plex as well as whatever game server I want to run for friends and I at the moment. (Currently Minecraft, which is having trouble since th switchover with server lag, but that is far less important than being able to reboot the screenless server box and have it work with no further input )

I would say it's the size of the universe and the fact that it is still expanding at an accelerated rate.

If the speed of light is really the "top speed" of the universe, it is inadequate for interstellar travel. It is barely good enough for timely communication, and not really even that.

Life can be as likely as it wants to be, but it seems to me that we're all quite divided, to the point of not being able to communicate at all with other potential intelligent species.

One of the weirdest facts. One that really makes you feel so small.

What's was your favourite fast food product that unfortunately got retired and never came back?

Here, for a while at McDonald's there was a 🍔 called "the 1955" and it was the best, big pieces of onion, an special sauce, buns and big piece of beef with bacon (for Europe standards anyways) it disappeared once and came back for an encore only to be removed again and never return.

Gotta chime in with the bacon cheddar potato wedges and chili cheese curly fries at Jack in the Box. Jack in general has become shit tier now.

Also, McDonalds used to have a super excellent breakfast burrito with sausage, bacon, peppers, everything. Back when breakfast all day was a thing.

I have been seeing a lot of animal abuse posts on here lately. I hadn't noticed 196 being like that in the past on here or Reddit. Is there a trend toward that for this community in general? I'm well aware of how fucked the industry is, but I also don't sub to this community for that. I am here for little gay people shit posting in my phone. These just make me sad. I can't personally do anything to stop this. I don't want to unsub, and there's not a great way to filter, unless it's all the same OP? :(

It's well known now that gamergate and large parts of the "MRA" movement were organized specifically to radicalize young white men, as a test run that would eventually become the alt-right pipeline to radicalize even more people. Steve Bannon and his band of merry trolls were heavily involved.

So, yes, it really was sexist, racist, full of hate, and directly led to the alt-right movement online.

This information is not hard to find, if you cannot or do not wish to learn about the entire situation, which is much more complicated than could be boiled into a reply here, perhaps you are willfully doing so. please look it all up. There have been plenty of articles and even documentaries made about it through the years since. It is not my job to teach you about it, and I'm not qualified, nor do I have sources ready.

I just finished Enterprise. I know the last episode doesn't count, but seriously, how the fuck did this not get more episodes eventually? Seasons 3 and 4 were so fucking good, like, DS9, Voyager, and TNG's best are right there, equal. It's been so long now it would be hard, but I feel like fans deserve a real conclusion and deserve to be told that Trip didn't really die, it was all a plot from the future somehow and then we could truly see the final battles, Starfleet vs Terra Prime vs the Suleban and their shadowy future boss who is totally not Archer from a future mirror timeline. >_>

Oh also, Star Trek Voyager x World of Warcraft. Is that just Star Trek Online?

I watched about a third of it. It's actually not too bad. It has some of that Carlin wit to it. I like the transition from God inventing cancer to "America gets a special way to die, though, MASS SHOOTINGS" - that was the big one that made me say "Wow. George would have definitely done a skit about mass shooting like this."

The reality TV bit, though, I dunno. George was a BIG fan of "the freak show" that was life, so he might have actually been a bit more positive about it. Also, the parts about your vote not mattering, that was pretty spot on. George admitted he doesn't vote and it was because he felt it didn't matter, and he also didn't want to take part in society the way it is

I have a life pro tip for people using cartridge razors and having them gunk up: canned air. Like the kind you're supposed to use on your keyboard or computer. Blow your razor out to dry and clear debris. It will last a shitload longer.
