After having held numerous speeches on how he would lock up judges and “left thugs”, Trump suddenly realizes that his envisioned totalitarian regime might not be popular, and gives the “I never met that woman” treatment to his own people working on Project 2025.

The insecurity of this candidate is astounding.

So, my spouse sent me a lengthy article about detransitioning earlier today, and it:

  1. Irritated me.
  2. Made me want to get some stats of my own.

So, the question is: "As a trans person, what are your opinions about detransitioning (DT)?"

Please select any and all options that apply.

Please only answer if consider yourself to be trans, nonbinary, or formerly trans or nonbinary.

Please boost for reach. I want like every trans person on Mastodon in this poll.

Thank you! 🩵 :heart_trans: 🩷

Here's the article in question: https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-transyouth-outcomes/

@alice

Quoting detransition stats as grounds for regulating access to healthcare makes about as much sense as quoting stats for how many tattoos people come to regret and end up covering up or removing later on in life as grounds for banning tattoos.

Condescending hand-wringing about how "people will regret their choices" has no place in any real discussion about something as fundamental as self expression. Resources to detransition should be freely available, same as transition. That's it.
