@Nonilex I’m pondering what impact this might have on class action lawsuits. They are kind of similar in that an entity called a class is a third party abstraction. Corporations are also third party abstractions representing a collective. Both of these constructs assume membership in a class until affected individuals opt out. The significant difference is that in a class, the individual members can potentially be known. Not really an insurmountable difference though…public records

@Nonilex I’m going to assert that precedent is a big fat hint that legislation IS necessary to clarify and codify the law. Precedent is based on an interpretation of the law under specific circumstances. So, Congress needs to get off its collective lazy ass and do its job.

@GottaLaff NFL. The podcast entertainment character was not under oath, so whatever that character said is irrelevant to the defendant’s guilt. Other witnesses have testified that the defendant compartmentalized. It’s really not that rare a coping technique. So, Paul Reuben’s Peewee character, “I know you are but what am I?” jumps to mind.

The negative statements about the judicial being made by the sycophants, Fox, newsmax, etc. etc. are indeed in service of a political agenda.

Flip this around, and imagine that prosecuting those who make statements criticizing a legal process - that this precedent was applied to people who criticize, say, a trial of police officers who shot an unarmed motorist.
