In that case flight hopping isn't the efficient way to do it

Just because you have a big country doesn't mean you can claim most functioning rail system. USA has the most km of track, but if you adjust to per capita it's 20th. That is a better judge

The Windsors hide behind a technicality. The crown corporation is rich, not the family.

This isn't a victory

The Judge agreed with NRW’s assessment that Mr Lane had benefited financially to the tune of £78,640.68 from his crimes. However, the Judge made a confiscation order which orders Mr Lane to pay £11,280 as his available amount.

Shameful

geophysicist ,

Hard disagree. Everyone in the UK HATES these people. To the point at which the government has been able to pass new laws limiting right to protest.

geophysicist ,

Yeah it can cause disruption, I agree. However it should preferably cause disruption for the people you have a problem with. Or simply by using public space which is equally theirs.

Making headlines by defacing historical monuments and art isn't really getting the public on their side. I'm left wing, most of the people I engage with are, and I've yet to meet someone in real life who thinks what Just stop oil are doing is helpful

geophysicist ,

Only if you believe what the conservatives want you to believe, and only if you sign up for their culture war narrative

geophysicist ,

Literally never heard that phrase before so I highly doubt it

geophysicist ,

Complete rubbish. A close friend is trans and your ramblings do not match with reality

geophysicist ,

The fact that you can't even spell Labour correctly says enough about the quality of your research on their policies

geophysicist ,

If the high rollers didn't feel inconveniences then their protest wasn't very effective! If they can effectively inconvenience the public to the extent that the government can pass new authoritarian anti-protest laws, but they failed to actually inconvenience the high rollers then what the hell are they doing and isn't this opinion that they're not really benefiting the movement actually quite an accurate one?

Hamas Wants Guarantees Ceasefire Will Actually Happen, While US Says Hamas Is Rejecting the Proposal ( truthout.org )

Following the UN Security Council vote to approve a three-phase ceasefire in Gaza, U.S. officials and other international allies of Israel are cynically placing blame on Hamas for a stall in current ceasefire negotiations — even as Israel has insisted on indefinitely continuing its massacre in Gaza and Hamas has said its main...

geophysicist ,

And if one side wants to continue the shooting and bombing? Then you can't even agree to a ceasefire. And that's the issue we have

geophysicist ,

unless you somehow charge only during times of excess renewable energy. Currently, this is not possible.

This is possible in many European nations, who publish live data on renewal percentage.

In the Netherlands, I have the live green energy data in home assistant. This could quite easily be used to turn on and off car charging

Okay but when can we use the weather forecast on our dashboards? Functionality was retired with no replacement

This is classic muddying of a clear cut case for drama only. This was infamous in the UK for the fact that there had been so many warnings about her by senior doctors, which had not been acted on until far far too late

I read the summary in this post, and I've read enough detailed information about this case from British news sources already

Why do you assume you'll be downvoted by sync users instead of because revanced sucks ass? It's hard to set up and will randomly break requiring resetup (Hopefully I don't get downvoted by revanced user)

geophysicist ,

Well I think the stupidity of the proposal is summarised here:

There is also some doubt about the safety case for a ban. In London, which has the highest number of floating bus stops in the UK, statistics for 2020-22 showed that of 623 pedestrians injured after being struck by a bike, 0.6% of them – four in all – were hit at floating bus stops. None of these incidents appeared to have happened at a designated crossing point. Over the same period, 11,400 pedestrians and 15,000 cyclists were injured after being hit by motor vehicles.

However the alternate take is that it seems to be being enforced well:

A spokesperson for the agency said: “As regulator for forestry in Scotland, we have carried out an inspection last year to the Lost Forest project on the Kinrara Estate. Our inspectors found pockets of high mortality of trees that were planted and we believe the most likely cause of this was the very dry conditions last spring when the trees were put in the ground.
“The public funds allocated to the woodland creation project are fully protected. We will expect the applicant [Lost Forest] to make good through replacement planting at their own cost to ensure that the agreed amount of woodland creation, and at the correct tree density, takes place. If we found that this was not the case, then we can reclaim the grant.”
BrewDog said it has since replanted 50,000 of the baby trees that did not survive the winter.

If you're annoyed by your mum this much, why drive half the way across the country with her for your doctor visits? You're a grown man. With a wife. Do it yourself. And an aversion and phobia are practically the same, i.e. it's "i don't like it" instead of a physical medical issue.

geophysicist ,

So you're a grown adult, with a wife and daughter, and your mum is paying for your stay, and you're sat on the internet bitching about her? Get a grip

Have you even looked up the dictionary definition of aversion?

aversion

Definitions from Oxford Languages · Learn more

noun

a strong dislike or disinclination.

"he had a deep-seated aversion to most forms of exercise"

Phobia is a fear of. Aversion is a dislike of. So no its not a phobia unless you are scared of food. In the grand scheme of medical research they are pretty damn similar and your scientific paper link just sums up that the brain and nervous system have control over digestive functions. Congrats, your mother-funded trip and your expensive doctor diagnosed that you dislike food and so react when you are made to try it. They called you whiny in medical speak and pointed you to the mental health people

geophysicist ,
  1. stop being so damn dramatic. I doubt you try anything suggested seriously when youre so sure of your "woe-is-me" mentality - only you can do this

  2. recognise that your emotions and your thinking is the problem here, so think about how to separate that from the physical action of eating - maybe needs mental health support

  3. go back to bascis - babies start with foods like mashed banana, boiled pureed broccili or peas, one small spoonful and it is stopped before they decide it's too much. Find something similar to what you do have already. Gradually reintroduce lumps into the puree

geophysicist , (edited )

And RE the

why do I really want to eat food if I dislike food?

Ask your damn doctor that you paid so much why they told you that you dislike food. Because an aversion for food is exactly that

Edit: Keep editing your post adding more whining, I'm sure that will convince the internet that you're not just whiny and have seen "over a dozen" doctors because you're a medical mystery instead of that they keep passing you around because you won't try anything they suggest that requires actual willpower

geophysicist ,

You sound completely insufferable. Your poor mother paying for your trip to the clinic, paying for the accommodation.

You told the whole internet that their diagnosis was aversion to food. Why get mad at me for just rephrasing what your prestigious mayo clinic doctor told you before they gently showed you the exit and pointed you towards the mental health team

Pureed foods are not possible for me

See point 1

geophysicist ,

First good day? You wrote a long whiny, bitchy post about the doctors and your own mother who drove you across the country and paid for the accommodation so you can have the best doctors in the world tell you the same thing she's been telling you for years. Get a fucking grip on yourself

geophysicist ,

I'll give you free reign of whinymedicalstories, elderlymotherdrama and weaningstories

I know exactly how i come across in this. However I'm okay with that considering the insufferable level of whining in the original post and the enabling behaviour of other people replying

Poll: Most Ukrainians say they understand motivation of draft evaders ( kyivindependent.com )

Most Ukrainians say they understand the motivation of those who try to avoid mobilization, according to a poll by Ukraine's Institute of Social and Political Psychology published on April 1. At the same time, almost 43% of respondents said they were ashamed of men who evade mobilization.
