They're talking about Dungeons & Dragons, it's kind of a tabletop game where one player (the Dungeon Master, or DM) basically creates adventures for the other players. It's very nerdy but very fun and also takes a lot of time.

Is it too early to call Villeneuve the greatest Sci-fi movie director of all time?

This comic is from 2023, it's completely unrelated to the man or bear question.

So they range from cat-sized to dog-sized

Wait, it's been a year already since the last one? Damn

Then you better have some damn powerful magic otherwise your ice castle will soon become a puddle.

There's something fishy going on here cause after some light ddging it seems Portugal has an incarceration rate of about 110 inmates per 100,000 people. Also I found this same map elsewhere and it does not show Portugal in red.

In cat years that time was actually below average

You might be interested in the movie Europa Report. It's not about an exoplanet but I think it fits.

I bet you still have an HDD or SSD somewhere though

Not having to feed our offspring vomit?

I was going to say teleportation as in Jumper but going instantly to a place outside your field of view seems like trouble waiting to happen. Blink is already good enough.

In a perfect world, potion sellers like him would not exist.

But this is not a perfect world.

The first one reads like a SFW version of the chorus from Closer by Nine Inch Nails.

There's a Jojo reference here somewhere, I can feel it

This whole thing is so weird to me. I did a road trip through Argentina some time ago and every once in a while I'd see a random road sign just saying "Las Malvinas son Argentinas". They just won't let it go.

I don't know if I have thalassophobia but I get people who do

deus ,

It's a factorial joke. 18! is quite a bit larger than "my back!" large.

deus ,

They're all lickable, it's just that some you can only lick once.

Thanks to your comment I realized I had never seen a female peacock and after some ddging I've learned that they're called peahens and that they don't look nearly as majestic as their male counterparts.

So we're basically Jason for other animals

The ‘top-down’ construction method was used, which allowed the first 23 stories to be built before the basement was fully excavated.

So it was aliens, got it.

The more I learn about Japan the more awesome it sounds

By elimination it must be the "what the fuck"

Edit: Yeah, that's it. Someone below mentioned a mercury arc rectifier.

When I first came here, this was all beach. Everyone said I was daft to build a house on a beach, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the ocean. So I built a second one. That sank into the ocean. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the ocean. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest house in all of the coast.

Moby - Porcelain. I don't even know why but it always destroys me.

To play devil's advocate (but not really because I actually like brutalist architecture), brutalism can look ugly and depressing, sure, but does not have to. I find that brutalist buildings go remarcably well with vegetation. I've been tricked, I've been backstabbed and I've been, quite possibly, bamboozled!

@aihorde draw for me a man pushing a large boulder up a steep hill

Why are there lighthouses in Wyoming

deus ,

I want this optimism injected straight into my veins

For me it is This House Has People In It. There was a channel, I think it was Nexpo, that made a full hour video analysis on it and I'm still amazed by how much depth this has and how much effort went into it.
