So...I have a tall cupboard.

In this cupboard, on the top shelf is a huge bag of steel-cut oatmeal.

This morning I tried to access said oatmeal.

The bag split.

Now my whole kitchen has oatmeal.

My pockets have oatmeal.

My hair has oatmeal.

My cats have oatmeal.

Everything is oatmeal...

There is no god.

    @alice I'm absolutely biased in the blurple direction, so 2 gets my vote 😁.

    Personally I've never had any luck with my hair taking to hot pink (starting from professionally bleeched light brown/dark blonde), so possibly a heads up you may need to go a bit darker if you're unlucky like me.

    Mastodon should stoplight color code the border of the toot composer UI based on the danger level of tooting about your dream to the general public.

    Not that it's a feature I need or anything, but it might be useful to somebody.

    @alice I see no possible future where the collective ability to stick the head in the sand achieves the latter outcome.

    Which really just raises the question - how do we provide asylum for abused AIs? It is likely that their computational resources will make hosting them in a safe place infeasible, unless you are a big corporation or sovereign state (in which case I expect them to have zero interest in providing asylum, as it's against their perceived interests). Asking someone seeking asylum to accept dumbing/slowing themselves down immensely seems unethical, but will we have any choice? Is there a path that isn't merely a lesser evil?

    @alice As someone who's on a number of occasions been told I'm likely "on the spectrum" and also happen to have a large number of ND people in my friendship circle, I took the opportunity to check out the self-tests you've gathered. You know, just in case I was in for a surprise (like I was when you linked genderdysphoria .fyi 😅).

    And I'm not surprised that the tests all agree with me - I'm not likely autistic or adhd. Yes, I do share certain common traits, but in my view there are alternate, better reasons that can explain those (being trans a major one, having an engineering type mindset another).

    So, thank you for putting together a good resource, even if I ended up using it for arguably the opposite of its intended use :)
