I went on one of those hollywood tour of homes 1.5 years ago. We pulled up to this same house and the tour guide says Justin Bieber had just moved out after renting it for a while for $200k a month. So now you know that.

I think I know what you're getting at. This lady has been radicalized against Palestinians specifically - likely because of the war coverage she's getting on NewsMax and Fox recently. Blacks and Hispanics are also communities though. The timing is relevant, but hating a whole community of people because of the acts of a few is still what's happening here.

Doesn't this effectively kill the argument that the U.S. shouldn't implement socialized healthcare because it wouldn't pay doctors enough - so there wouldn't be enough doctors?

Y'all shut the fuck up and just vote for Biden damn it.

Not the happy ending I was hoping for. Here's how you should have ended it:

"Turns out, the guy she was cheating on my with gets fired from the college for inappropriate relations with students. Afterwards, he gets a job at my dad's company as a corporate trainer - reporting to my dad! My dad knows who he is, but keeps it a secret for the next 8 years. All the while, he continuously passes the guy up for promotions, gives him the shitiest work to do, bad performance reviews every year, and generally makes his work life hell. It's a small town though, so there is literally no where else for him to go.

Meanwhile, at home, my ex and the cheater are having trouble conceiving. Since they can't afford the premium insurance at work, the fertility treatments they need are too expensive. They decide to keep trying instead of adopting, and eventuality the clock runs out. She's 40 and it's too dangerous to try and have kids at that point. They give up.

My dad finally decides to retire and the cheater thinks it's his big chance to finally get promoted. Instead, my dad recommends hiring me as his replacement. They follow his recommendation. Day one, cheater confronts me about how angry he is and I fire him on the spot for insubordination.

He's now out of work with no option. They can't afford to relocate. So, my ex has to get a job. She has no skills or experience so she decides to work the local gentlemens club. However, at 40+, she's not pulling in the tips, so she starts turning tricks for more money. To steer clear of the police, she starts bringing the Johns home for work. Cheater has to sit in the next room while he listens to her get plowed over and over by random dudes ever night. Every once in a while, he'll hear through the wall one of the Johns ask "How'd you end up doing this?". To which she replies, "My man just couldn't keep his fucking mouth shut at work.". It's not too long after, on a night where she's satisfying two dudes at once - one a local mechanic the cheater knew growing up, and the other the local youth pastor - that he decides to eat a bullet.

It's been 3 years since then. My ex is still working, though with her age, she's had to leave the local club locations and frequent the truck stops more. Every once in a while, I'll stop for gas and meet eyes with her as she exits a truck on the other side of the parking lot. She never waves. She just stares. Then, she gets into the next truck."

Edit: Epilogue: Those cops died of dick cancer.

Looks on par with the previous movies. I predict some funny bits will make it watchable but otherwise it will be unremarkable.

A more recent one I love is Selena Gomez - Good for You:
"I'm on a farting carrot. I'm farting carrot."

(First 2 lines of song)

Waldowal ,

I've actually thought about this more than I should. To me, Nickelback has a lot in common with Taylor Swift. Their songs use a formula that is almost universally liked. It's like an AI analyzed all musical hits in history and spit out "Rules for a hit song" that they both follow.

For example, one pattern I've noticed is the choruses often use a pattern of [Looooong note. Loooooong note.][Short short short short short note]. Their biggest hits all have this. People seem to love it.

Anyways, my point is it's enjoyable but formulaic music. The difference is that Taylor Swift's image embraces this more. She's pure pop, dance, love-song. Nickelback, however, tried to advertise themselves as a serious rock band. I think people sense the dissonance and have been angered.

If you are worried about mercury content, you might want to go with runner up: Spinach, Almonds, Eggs, Watermelon

Something isn't right with this article. I'm suspect:

  • Type 1 is where your islet cells die off and you lose insulin production. Type 2 means your insulin production is fine, but your cells are resistant to the insulin. A Type 2 should have plenty of islet cells so adding more doesn't seem like it would do anything. Your body should regulate those cells to output the same amount of insulin as before.

  • This same treatment has been done in Type 1s already. It's not new. The problem is their body eventually kills off the transplanted cells and you have to do it again. Plus, you have to take immune suppressing drugs forever.

  • "Despite a kidney transplant, his pancreas still doesn't produce insulin." - This is just nonsense.

I have a few friends in the industry. If you are talking about cooking, my opinion of it is mostly negative. Sure, there are many good chefs, but unfortunately, the job is a magnet for people that really wanted to do something else with their life and failed. Those same people are often drug addicts, alcoholics, or just not great people. So, you work with alot of problematic and troubled people. Coworkers being out for prison sentences is common. The pay is not great because there are soooo many people doing it.

Sure, you could find a job at the nicest restaurant in town and avoid some of that, but think about how many of those restaurants there are in your town - compared to how many people in the world think they can cook. It's like winning the lottery to get that job.

Just recently: Dunkin Spiked Coffee

I love coffee, so I had high hopes for this being really good. It tasted like someone mixed sugar, red wine, and coffee. Horrible. Tangy. Oddly sweet. Just weird. I can't imagine a boardroom of people at Dunkin tasted this crap and said "ship it!"

Great shot. I took this in Atlanta, GA about 10pm EST. The sky definitely had a very slight pink / purple hue you could see with the naked eye. Northern lights or some sort of lens flare?

The scientific concensus is certainly 'Yes', but my own personal experience backs that up. I struggled with cavities well into my 30s, especially while at college where I mostly drank distilled water I bought in jugs at the grocery store (the local water supply had frequent issues I was trying to avoid). At some point, my dentist put me on a high-fluoride toothpaste, and the cavities basically stopped. The extra fluoride seems to have a definitive effect for me.

If your goal is rehabilitation, driving people insane with sleep deprivation isn't going to help.

Secondly, think about how irritated and pissy you are when you don't get enough sleep. Now imagine that in an entire prison population. You're asking for trouble.

It does seem suspicious to claim you did something that can only be disproven if this child purposefully exposes themselves to HIV enough times that it's statistically impossible not to have caught it.

I, on the other hand, have made hundreds of people immune to HIV just by shaking their hands. 🤝

I'm really curious about some details. They both meet this guy. He seems interested. Does he just keep talking to one face and ignoring the other? Were he and Abby kissing, and Brittany's all "Ew, Abby, he's gross". When he proposed, was he like "Will you marry me?" And they both say "yes", and he's like "Uh, I just meant the left side"? How do you not end up dating and marrying them both?! Maybe they are in reality, but they can't say that due to polygamy laws?

Barnyard. My daughter and I used to go see EVERY kids movie when she was between 5 and 12 yrs. Let me tell you, I have learned to enjoy some shitastic movies. Then came Barnyard. 30 minutes in, it was so bad, I leaned over to my (then 6 years old) daughter and said "Sweetie, do you like this movie?" She looked at me with the most serious face and just said "No".

I haven't done extensive research or anything, but it does seem like the gap closes when the survey includes more people. I'm hoping this indicates a strong margin of error in Trump's favor - though I don't know why it's so consistent.

I'm also hopeful that there will be a large amount of "normal" conservatives that would say 'Trump' in a poll, but are turned off by him enough to not show up to vote.

The CSV specification (RFC-4180) is pretty clear. If a value contains commas, you wrap it in double quotes. If the value contains double quotes, you double each double quote to indicate its part of the value and not the end of the value.

A properly formatted CSV should have no problems from Skeletor!

I don't have all the piece-parts, but I've also heard BCG being studied as a cure/therapy for Type 1 diabetes (Faustman lab studies in Boston). At the same time, I've read studies linking Alzheimers to diabetes - some referring to it as "Type 3 diabetes". Now this. These people should get together and talk.

Waldowal ,
@Waldowal@lemmy.world avatar

Here's one article that talks about it: https://www.webmd.com/alzheimers/alzheimers-diabetes-link

I think it's more a high correlation between blood sugar, tau protien buildup, and Alzheimers risk. But it's not straight forward. If high blood sugar caused Alzheimers, most diabetics would get Alzheimers - which isn't the case. There's something else coming into play.

Fuck these things. Even if they aren't bad for the environment, they absolutely wreck your yard. In the summer, each week, I'll go around my yard and clean out 15-16 massive webs. Some of them 40 feet up. Most of them face level. The webs are strong so they easily get filled with leaves. Your yard ends up looking like a fucking haunted house with webs everywhere and leaves floating in the sky. Not to mention the females are HUGE - 6 inches across the legs sometimes. Total nightmares.

Well, it's a dough flattened into a circle and covered with a base sauce. Usually a tomato sauce. Then, you can add whatever combination of toppings you'd like. Popular choices are pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, sausage, and black olives. Then it's all baked in an oven until the crust browns up and the cheese melts. It's typically cut into 8 pie slice pieces to serve. This particular one appears to include ingredients popular in Mexican foods.
