More than a month after a news report revealed that the Combat Infantryman Badge Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, wears on his lapel was revoked since he was never eligible for the award to begin with, the congressman refuses to take the pin off....

After all those issues, I am not sure if I would want to travel back to earth in that Boeing contraption.

It is not the first time that Boeing did something space-related for the military or NASA. The big difference is that while on earlier contracts they just asked for more money time and again, this time they are on a fixed budget and have to show results before getting paid.

And they cannot claim it was not enough money to get people up and down safely. From the same pot, SpaceX got about half as much as Boeing got. Boeing cried foul about this "wasting" money on an unexperienced upstart! And now look where both companies are with their project: SpaceX is happily going up and down like an elevator, and Boeing, with twice the money and years of delay, launched people into space with a known-defekt spaceship.

What is their intended market? I see no real use for such a box. Heck, even Linux will probably come to a crawl on that box. And you can probably build something ARM based for the same price with eight gigabytes of RAM and running circles around the 386.

Probably. Even including the RAM on chip and the rest of the mainboard, too. Take a modern flash chip, and you can emulate a vintage sized HDD with it.

Can one sue Utah for gross neglience now? I mean, they got thousands of complaints from concerned citizens, and they only cared for investigating five of them? Or do they profile those complaints into "we are not investigating certain types of people", e.g. politicians that have been reported?

Well, a huge chunk of those probably came from patriotic LGBT+ citizens cramming the reports with junk.

Of course. But they opened that snitchline with so much fanfare and claimed people using the "wrong" bathroom the end of the world. And then they only investigate five out of 12k reports. Now that sounds lame even for Republicans. What if they opened a snitchline on corrupt politicians? Will they only investigate five cases out of 12k reports? Such a snitchline would be much more important for society than reporting people using the wrong door. But chances are that they won't open such a line for a number of reasons...

There will always be stocks for gullible people. I remember when they IPO'd the national telecommunication company in my country. You were practically bombarded with ads from all sides to buy shares. My stance was that if they have to peddle the stock to the public that way, they probably did not find sufficient interest in professional circles for a reason.

The stock was then IPO'd at about €15 and shot up to over €100 in a few months. My coworker was quite thankful later that I frequently reminded him that the overall evaluation of the company only supported a value of about €10 per share. He sold at €100. It peaked at €102, and then fell down to €12 or €13. Over the last 30 years, it managed to slowly climb to €22 now, with no more significant peaks.

Nope, not the King. He might have a lot of stuff, but quite a lot of that is basically unsellable. So his crown might be worth a gazillion, but parliament would probably interfere if he tried to sell it off. And it would be an issue what is actually his to sell and what is really owned by the state.

I only look into kbin.social occasionally to see if they finally got their spam problem under control. They were nice maybe a year ago, but now it is a dumpster fire with half the main page being ads for drugs and junk services.

The old "Reddish Brown" as of three or more years ago is know to be brittle. LEGO has changed to formula since which apparently fixed that.

Apart from your problem of getting the remains out, just contact LEGO support for free replacement parts, as this is a known and accepted issue. Keep the parts, though, if you ask for a larger number of parts, they might want the broken pieces back as proof (theoretically, I have nor heard of such a case personally).

Hey, at least it is a nice, short word. In German, it is an "Elephantenrüsselmuschel" (elephant trunk clam). At least there is absolutely no question how it is pronounced, so that's that.
