Technically it was Kali on a VM. But I had absolutely no clue what I was doing (I was 9 years old) so I gave up.

Then I tried Ubuntu to get past my parental controls. Same thing.

Eventually had success with Mint 5 years later. Never looked back.

Actually witty and funny. And not socially awkward and weird. Which is totally what I'm like in real life because why would I imagine myself as something I'm not.

Just saying that in Nemo (or whatever the cinnamon file manager is called) you can pin a file/folder to the top through the right click menu, unless I'm remembering wrong. But I haven't used this feature at all so I don't know how well it works for any use case.

I don't think you even need to be in the top 25 for that, just pick a mildly niche subject.

I looked at some recordings of the newer concerts, and it actually looks quite nice imo. Not amazing, and I'd obviously still prefer the hologram, but the image is good quality and they seem to not be lighting up the rest of the stage as much anymore so it blends in better.

(although the people on the back probably couldn't see shit)

Late reply I know, but it's weird how in this thread I mostly found negativity towards the show but when I look other places the reviews seem to be largely positive... Is it just that only the people who enjoyed the show bothered to write one?

I was honestly just kind of fed up with win11. There was so much bloat and barely any of it even worked, and it's also just a lazy reskin of 10. And by that point I'd been meaning to try out Linux for a while (first time i every used anything linux-related was running kali in a VM when I was 9, and I had absolutely no idea how the terminal worked). I installed Mint, and it immediately felt so much better than what I had before. Then I wrecked it a couple months later while trying to get Genshin Impact to not run like shit. It also broke my Windows dual boot that I kept as a backup, dunno what happened there. Then dabbled in Arch, Wine was completely broken there (still don't know the reason why). At that point my passion ever so slightly died out and I decided that spending 3 hours trying to fix random stuff I know nothing about wasn't really my cup of tea. Conveniently I followed the tradition of accidentally wrecking my system a couple weeks later. That time pacman just randomly broke after an update and wouldn't fix itself no matter what I tried, I chrooted into it later and I'm sure that fixed the issue but at that point I just kind of gave up on that OS. I'm currently on Manjaro and I really like it. It's kind of like Arch but I didn't install it which means most things actually work now.

I also run Linux from a flash drive on my school laptop (can't install it on the internal drive even if I tried, it's encrypted), first it was Fedora but then after a while of installing different DEs to make the performance acceptable I wiped it and installed minimal OpenSuse. It was blazing fast in the beginning, then it got slightly more sluggish as I started using it more but I guess that's just the natural progression of things.

I watched a whole video essay on these the other day. Companies got away with some wild shit back then

My guess is that they got some sort of AI to rewrite the message for them, but after a while it just had a stroke

it's SAVE FILES. the base game has to use them. they can't do anything on their own.

not sure if this is very 'poetic' but here's my favorite

Hated by life itself

In the end, we’ll die anyway

You will, I will, one day all of us will rot away like fallen leaves

But regardless, we live on frantically--

Shouldering our lives, frantically, we live--

Killing, struggling, laughing, shouldering it all

Living, living, living, living-- just live

(song is hated by life itself, original is in japanese so this is a translation)

Why did you have to specify it being nonbinary?

TheCheddarCheese ,
@TheCheddarCheese@lemmy.world avatar

We also don't have 13 different words for I (glances at Japan)
