I'll wait until other countries validate the findings, or until someone makes a working prototype, before getting excited. Seems like it's one of those "too good to be true" stories like the LK-99. Hype in tech and science almost always leads to disappointment.

I do that for open-source videos games, I pay for the steam version to support the creators (Dwarf Fortress and Cataclysm : Dark Days Ahead for example). I'm totally fine with it, as long as it's a one-time fee, no subscription bullshit.

Doesn't looting only really affects the small shops and the people working at the shops? I don't imagine big corpos losing their shit over one or two stores burned. Drop in the sea for them. Boycott at a massive scale would be more effective to bring those fuckers down, easier said than done though.

Impressive, I've only managed to read like 10 books so far this year, I bought an e-reader back in March and I have been steadily developing a reading habit (I'm averaging 50 pages a day this month). Honestly one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Crazy idea : let's use churches to accommodate homeless people since you can find them fucking everywhere, surely they're not used after 8pm, and that's basically the point of them in the first place, no?
