Might as well make an extra US state in the Middle East somewhere, seems like the military is more often there than at home, would save some trips and be more eco-friendly.
The Taliban basically kicked them out. The USA got out really quick and messy, leaving behind a ton of equipment (and charging their soldiers for some of it).
