The corner of room with plain cream-coloured walls and ceiling. The corner of a window is visible and bright. Beside it, a plain Ikea square shelving unit has various hardback books stacked on their sides, and a couple of old cameras. Above it, a white wire shelving display setup has some coloured glass ornaments, a globe, a wooden goblet, some non-specific crap, and a small collection of Wisden Cricketers' Almanacs (thick short books in yellow or brown). Beside all this is a black mantelpiece over the stainless steel surround of an electric fire. Above the mantle piece, an abstract painting that hints at a desert landscape with sun and moon blazing above, in various shades of red, yellow, silver and black.

    Hi!

    You are going to see a TON of pushback being here. That's not your fault though. You see, we've all become free of centralized services which make you a product rather then a user. So to some, allowing Meta to federate, is like drinking poison and not expecting it to kill you.

    With that said, my hopes is that this will give you the opportunity to see how much better it is to be a USER and not the PRODUCT.

    Can anyone point to a good resource on how to be a better parent to an autistic adult?

    I really feel like I'm swimming in circles and I'm not always sure I'm being the advocate and support that she needs me to be.
