Ghost is considering joining the Fediverse! That's right. The nonprofit company is contemplating federating Ghost over ActivityPub. Hi ! What do you find the best service to be for podcast episode distribution, transcription, and hosting more than one podcast? Spreaker got rid of their lower tier and my budget can't stretch to much more than $10 a month. And Buzzsprout block my VPN so they're now out haha. If you're a I'd love to know what you use (sorry, Castopod wasn't for me).

Some of you may be aware that I also cover professional #wrestling - that weird wonderful sport-art where the industry has a history of abuse and workers are largely non-unionised - from a "leftist" angle, via @theleftfist but I'm aware it's best to stick to smaller servers that are part of the #FediPact. You know what? I can barely believe I'm saying this but - wow - credit to the FBI for putting anarchism in such simple terms as to make its appeal obvious. This must help provoke so many more people into turning towards anarchism that it's basically free publicity. Nice!

I can't thank everyone enough for all their help and input on my quest to find an inexpensive XLR to USB adapter for my Stagg dynamic microphone - so many lovely people on Mastodon and the Fediverse! I have to confess to taking a small bag of raw nuts with me most times that I head outside my apartment block, where there are almost always crows - one of them in particular isn't shy and is therefore always enthusiastic to bound on up towards me ready to grab a snack I toss on over near to them for them to grab. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Photos and maybe videos to come in the weeks ahead, hopefully!

Hey all you ! I've just come into possession of a fantastic microphone, but beyond that am short of funds - so am wondering if anyone has any tips on good value XLR to USB cables (straight from dynamic mic into my Linux laptop) so I can make the most of this fabulous mic with minimal fuss (or hiss, haha).

@BeAware For me, my whole life in guerilla media has treated tech as a means to an end, so I can't claim to be an audiophile haha, but the mic I got my hands on is neatly represented in my profile image: it's a Stagg chrome retro mic, um, MD-007 iirc. I'm barely scraping by right now but thankfully patrons have enabled me to buy bits of tech, piece by piece.
