I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Piss ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion… I watched Pee-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like piss in rain…

Joe "If Israel didn't exist we'd have to invent it" Biden explicitly wants a genocide. And let's be clear, without the US arms, and the US carrier fleet sitting in the med, Israel wouldn't have the balls to do shit.

The US is more than complicit and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we found out down the line that this was all orchestrated by the US.

We need a giant subterranean drilling machine to travel to the core and restart the rotation with a bomb.

WHO say it would cost about 40billion a year to end world hunger.

The disease one sounds a lot more speculative seeing as the diseases need to actually be cured which could be tough and the costs would be uncertain. But I'm sure the mountains of money would expedite the process greatly.

God fucking knows. Probably so they can sell your data.

Postman doesn't force you to log in, though it does make it sound like you are missing out on a world of "amazing" possibilities.

What about all the oceans on all the other planets?

This is such an apples and oranges comparison, it grinds my gears every time it gets used to justify some nonsense conspiracy or cryptozoology nonsense.

Sorry for being a grump.

Stumbled backwards onto the tube tracks as a train was approaching. Only thing that saved me was my mate who grabbed my collar and hauled me back onto the platform as I was mid fall.

He is very charismatic.

He only tends to eat people who bore him, threaten to expose him, or who he feels deserve it.

I'd be fucked because I would deffo bore him

Not to be that guy, but isn't oil actually from all the trees that lived, died and got subducted, before there were any bacteria around capable of biodegrading them? So basically as soon as those bacteria arrived, no more oil was getting produced.

We might finally be able to stop paying extra for it in our burritos.

If Britain is so bothered by China, why do these .gov.uk sites use Chinese ad brokers? ( www.theregister.com )

At least 18 public-sector websites in the UK and US send visitor data in some form to various web advertising brokers – including an ad-tech biz in China involved in past privacy controversies, a security firm claims....

Do you consider The Fifth Element to be cyberpunk? ( lemmy.zip )

The futuristic city with flying cars at the beginning of the movie definitely has all the cyberpunk visuals, and technically Zorg is the head of an evil corporation. But the real villain of the movie is incoming force of evil/darkness. And the plot is resolved through the power of love. Even the President of Earth is actively...
