@finishingDutch @nogooduser lol, you try to find logic. I'm Greek. This government almost constantly tries (and unfortunately manages..) to push measures using some very twisted logic. The main idea behind all these is that they are gonna profit from it. Also by keeping the people busy with work it's gonna make it less likely to act against the government or even socialize with other people, thus worsening any unity among the people. And they mask it as a good measure.

It's the same people who tried to convince us that bringing private universities will be good, again using their illogical logic. (They pushed this during the winter exams so that students wouldn't rise against, but fortunately the gov's actions were met with huge resistance. Still, even after all this they passed the law..)

This political party is trying very hard to dismantle Greece and take us years back years. And it's their second term in a row... It's their 5th year in power in a row and we have at least ~3 more years.......

Now it's fire season, you can watch us as Greece will soon be burning literary and the gov will ~only try to evaccuate areas and blame it to the people instead of being proactive against wildfires (or combating them with proper means).🥲

BlastboomStrice ,

Have you tried apatch as an alternative to magisk?

It ~combines rhe advantages of magisk and kernelsu

BlastboomStrice ,

I think it may be based on ksu, but also uses superkeys with passwords or something. I don't know much about its security, you may want to check the issues tab on github or generally the project itself.

BlastboomStrice ,

I think the new "safetynet" is "Play integrity". I think you need playstore installed and activated to pass the test though.

At least, it seems like many apps are ok with passing only safetynet though, so probably not a big issue yet.

BlastboomStrice ,

Oh oke oke. I had issues with magisk a few months before I switch. I think there were incompatibility issues between magisk and lsposed manager, so I did a full reset, I upgraded the rom (from a beta version from November 2021 of the rom xiaomi.eu miui 12.6/android 11, I went to xiaomi.eu hyperOS/android13) and installed apatch so that I dont have incompatibikity issues (plus, it hides root much better).

BlastboomStrice ,

Those "root checks" are a joke. ~Nobody raises a brow if you are an admin user with root privilages on windows, (desktop) linux or macos. But it's such a huuuge deal when you manage to actually own and use your own mobile device the way you want by breaking free from what they impose on you, ugh...

Any app that doesnt work when you have root access ~shouldn't be used at first place..

Lsposed is a magisk/ksu module that has its own modules too. Like a manager insude a manager giving you even more options.

I would like to help you with various stuff and customizations but I just don't have enough time to explain them all.😅

I'm just gonna list stuff you may find useful:

Apatch (root and magisk/kernel modules manager)

Mrepo (magisk modules manager)

Shizuku

Color blender (to tweak metarial you colors)

Droidify (fdroid alternative)

Aurora store (play store alterantive)

Total commander (closed source root file manager)

Canta (used to uninstall system apps, I just use it to see the descriptions of various apps and disable them)

Florisboard beta (I have made a very good copy of gboard with that, I can send you the files if you want)

Smartpack manager (info about the phone and more)

Appmanager (various detailed info about apps)

Hidden settings (settings your rom may not show, closed source)

Island (for dual apps)

Neobackup (root backups, has issues with work profile)

Databackup (root backups, I use it to backup work profile apps)

Sai (installer)

Roundsync (uses rsync or rclone I think)

PrimitiveFTP (to send/recieve files with ftp connections)

DroidFS (to encrypt files)

DiskUsage (to visalise storage usage)

Db viewer (to view databases of apps, closed source)

Termux (temrinal for android, too advanced for me)

UsageDirect (logs app usage)

Motionamate (logs steps)

Neutrinote ce (notes)

Fossify apps (gallery, sms, calendar etc.)

Librera (pdf, epub etc viewer)

Moneywallet (expense/income tracker)

Magisk modules:

  • Adb and fastboot for android ndk

  • Advanced charging controller

  • Busybox for android ndk

  • Lsposed-mod (maintained version of lsposed manager, after the original went archived)

  • Zygisk mod

Lsposed modules/apps:

  • Lucky patcher (hacking apps if you want to)

  • Free notificiations to manage notifications

  • Matrix rain (fancy effect with matrix background in notification shade)

  • messengerEX (to disable adds in messenger app, in case you use it)

And many many more stuff

I was setting up my phone for about two weeks some months ago (the was a bug with xiaomi and work profile)😅

BlastboomStrice ,

I tend to wear them on public transportation:

a) in my city I wear them because we have bad public transportation and people tend to be dangerously packed inside the buses (this issue recently has started to be alleviated), so to protect my self (and also show that things arent well inside) I wear the mask.

b) in other foreign cities I wear the mask in public transportation because:

1)I dont want to be sick on vacations

2)Different countries probably(?) have kinda different strains of viruses and such, so it may be more dangerous for me.

BlastboomStrice ,

35 thousand?

Hah, I have about 300 thousand🙂🥲

(~8years of phone use)

BlastboomStrice ,

HAHAHAHA trueee

It's like a bad and inefficient phone diary filled with random memories that drown the important ones in the expanding ocean of screenshots I have created

BlastboomStrice OP ,

Oh indeed, it's down again (yesterday I could read the posts)😬..

BlastboomStrice OP ,

Yeah cool, no rush, besides it seems like kbin has some issues to solve first😅

BlastboomStrice ,

Indeed! It was the reason I had switched to thunder few months ago, but now jerboa is good as well. Keep it up!

BlastboomStrice ,

I'm too having some issues in general.

I don't know if it's my app (Thunder on android), but all operations seem slow (I think it used to be faster, changing to guest from another instance ~everything is faster). Even saving this post resulted in a timeout.

I'll report my main issues:

  • My profile page and inbox take about 5seconds to load and sometimes they load indefinetly

  • Opening any post takes about 3seconds to load

  • Saving any image takes around 5seconds to load

Is this the experience for the rest as well? I'd like to know if it's just me or that mander is slow. I'm not angry or something, just reporting stuff to let the owners and users know. If it could be fixed, it would be nice. If it's an infrastructure issue, well I get it.

BlastboomStrice ,

Wait, after all those murders and sabotaging during the elections the people still managed to elect a really worthy president (seems like the best president I've seen in all the countries the last years)??

Wow, maybe I should move to Mexico

Congratulations Mexico!

BlastboomStrice ,

Hahaha, I ~just came after a search using g**gle due to ddgo being down, I noticed the "web" search is no longer the default (as it was discussed some days ago here).

Google seems to have a huge grip on people and they don't seem to notice (or act against) the terrible services of google search..

BlastboomStrice ,

Lol, who wants these anyways. One more reason not to use google play services. (Though I have google play services on this phone.)

Automatic AI-powered screen lock for when your phone is snatched.

Theft Detection Lock is a powerful new feature that uses Google AI to sense if someone snatches your phone from your hand and tries to run, bike or drive away. If a common motion associated with theft is detected, your phone screen quickly locks – which helps keep thieves from easily accessing your data.

One good thing you could try is use this app:

Find My Device

BlastboomStrice ,

Palaye Royale

Yayy thats cool. Check out

  • Maneskin

  • Demi Lovato - Eat me

Other stuff (fromat; artist - song):

  • Poets of the fall - Carnival of rust

  • Viagra boys - Punk rock loser

  • Pierce the veil - King for a day (or check March into water)

  • Get scared - Sarcasm

  • Grim salvo - Black rainbow (one of the best songs, could be better if it didnt address women in a bad way twice..)

  • Ashnikko

  • Melanie Martinez

  • Dove cameron - boyfriend

  • D4vd - Worthless

  • Paris Paloma - Labour

  • Falling in reverse - Popular monster OR Voices in my head OR Watch the world burn (beware; the singer is a rather bad person in my opinion, among others I think he also is a trabsphobe... such a shame cuz they make really good songs..)

  • Sabaton (power metal mainly about military history, they seem to be cool guys)

  • NF (rapper) - Clouds/Search/Hope

  • Crown the empire - Superstar

  • Jhariah - Pressure Bomb 3???/Bad luck!/Knvives are dangerous, so kid cut the theatrics

I'd recomment checking listen brainz' tools, like this one https://listenbrainz.org/explore/music-neighborhood/ which shows relative artists. Or make an account there (beware; it publicly shows your listents with an accuracy of a minute, not just a day). It nice becase you can also find people with similar tastes.

Have fun exploring!

Unrelated to the topic:

Is the aim of CC "..." text at the botton to prevent ai from using your comments or something? (I'm trying to understand.)

BlastboomStrice ,

I see, I see, tnx

BlastboomStrice ,

Aww, for me it almost always happens the reverse.

BlastboomStrice ,

I highly suggest this one, a friend of mine has read it and she was showing me parts of the book. It's in my "to read" list.

BlastboomStrice ,

Its a network where you (mainly?) share music with other users. I think you can call it a p2p network where its very encouraged to share your stuff as well if you want people to let you download from them.

It even has an open source app for android. You just make an account (only username and password) and you can start using the service.

Deemix too🙃

Trams and trains exist..

BlastboomStrice , (edited )

Ive heard some stuff about germany...

Here in Greece though, a year ago 57 people (~mainly students returning to their university city) died in a train collision with another train...

There are almost no safety measures in trains here.. On the disaster above, it was 2 trains running at high speed on the same track against each other for like 10minutes.. The government kinda tried and still tries to cover it up. It is said the other train carried illegal oil for fire or something (that's why the collision caused a huge explosion). About a year later courts are being held and the government tries to do almost everything on their power to blame it to someone else or just bury the case...

(Trains in Greece ~no longer belong to public sector btw.)

2nd edit: It is very touching though that this made people this year and a year before go out and protest on the streets. Not a small protest, but huuuge protests with enormous attendance. This year even more went (including me).

BlastboomStrice ,

Ohhhh I remember reading on an encyclopedia about this research! I think it even won an Ig Nobel prize https://www.livescience.com/pengins-projectile-poo.html

BlastboomStrice ,

Ayyyyy, I just closed my pc after tagging some songs. I've started a big project of replacing my music library with .flac files which I also convert them to .opus files in a separate folder and I try to tag them all prolerly. I've even set up a workflow with instructions on how to do it (tell me if you want to share that).

As for the music players, I too use VLC which really has limited capabilities raleted to tags usage, so I found Phonograph Plus which even lets you edit tags and can sort using many different tags (even supports lyrics).

Till I replace all of my music library, I might keep using VLC, but after that I might switch to phonograph plus.

BlastboomStrice ,

I think firefox pdf reader is one of the slowest pdf readers.😅

On windows I switched to Okular and on android I use Librera (and sometimes the default stuff on my phone).

BlastboomStrice ,

Isnt throwing garbage free?

(At least here in Greece it is.)

BlastboomStrice , (edited )

Ohh ok ok. Yeah, very different from Greece. Probably because Greece isn't that much of a capitalistic country I think🤷. We just have some big trash cans (around 1m³ of volume) every like 50meters (±40meters) in residential areas and trucks pick up the garbage.

They are by the streets/in indetations of the pavement (I've seen in other european countries, that they have those trash cans inside an apartment complex instead and other stuff. We had hard time figuring out where to throw our trash in Hungary).

Though people doesnt care very much of what they dispose of and frequnetly you can see stuff like big carboards and abandoned furniture near those trash cans which are rarely collected (many times you have to call the appropriate service of the municipalty).

We also have those small bins (around 50liters) on the pavement scattered around in the cities where you can throw various small garbage.

BlastboomStrice ,

Lol, indeed you pay through taxes, the other person who commented about paying their country for that reminded it to me.

Though I dont know how much money of the taxes go there.

BlastboomStrice ,

Isn't that what China wanted some decades ago?

YSK: You can search (most of?) lemmy as a search engine

Due to the nature of fediverse, you can't just do a "site:lemmy" search as you'd do with reddit (site:reddit.com). I was searching for ways to do it on my firefox browsers and I came to a solution that searches 21 different instances simultaneously, which I consider to be a big part of lemmy (I also include kbin instances). I am...

Loool same story here in Greece about the first head of state of indipendent Greece (Ioannis Kapodistrias). What was going on 200years ago?
