It looks like YouTube is closed off again for people (like me) using ad blockers. And I can't find a single Invidious instance that's still working either. Just error codes everywhere, as if YT is killing them.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any known solutions?

@breadandcircuses YT still works fine for me with an adblocker on firefox, if you use chrome it won't work moving forward. Invidious is technically illegal of course, and YT is slowly stopping that working as well as you've found out. YT policies are slowly making me move my content from there, but the alternatives aren't quite there yet either...
So the solution is use firefox not a chromium based browser - not something I guess many will like

@breadandcircuses using 2 adblockers is the issue there.... ublock is much better for youtube, but adblock plus will bork it

@breadandcircuses for me I'd drop adblock plus. You could ad YT to the allowed list, but in my experience it still doesn't play nicely. There is really zero point in running 2 adblockers

@BeAware yup - it's user accounts. But that's where we are.... like I've said all along, people are used to being spoon fed stuff so when they have to work at it, it's just not the same....

What I find quite strange is that plenty of Fediverse users hate the centralised big tech companies and then livestream on Twitch which is owned by Amazon - the exact kind of corporation they abhor! So strange....

Could someone explain to me in simple words what is wrong with ? Esp. federating between different protocols?

Like and (what is doing now) or ​s and ​es (which seems to be problematic to some).

@debacle in a nutshell federation between platforms shouldn't be an issue, but and both have a history of being poor with data selling and big on advertisers, both things that most federated platforms/servers frown upon and most people came to say to escape. Also, they are both big on algorithms yet another reason people don't want to know

@debacle @snscaimito not really as the tools to not federate are there for anyone to use. A block can be via account, instance, ip etc.
