Belated sorting through images from a photography afternoon the other month out at Sydney airport.

Sony a7c, 70-300mm Tamron lens.

All but silhouette shot of a REX narrow body taking off at sunset.
Sunset light bleeds over a Qantas planet taxiing around Sydney airport.

Some spray got on the end of my lens while shooting so the shots aren't as clean as I'd like. Harder to notice with the sunset shots though, fortunately.

@vampiress I've had people tell me they really like photos and they don't care about some of the technical imperfections. Because I can see the out of focus petal in the flower image, but they don't care and like it. I find editing makes me really aware of imperfections that don't actually matter in whether something is a good image. I'm too close to the detail.

@abstractcode Yeah. I know the feeling. These days, I almost always shoot on JPG, no raw, and force myself to live with what I shoot in camera. I like the restrictions. (Obviously, otherwise I wouldn't shoot on film as well.)

@vampiress Restrictions are a good thing. Mine is I use primes (except for when I shoot birds because telephoto primes are stupidly expensive)

@abstractcode Yeah. I exclusively use primes too EXCEPT when shooting boats or planes, then I use my one zoom.

@abstractcode On my Sony I use some Sony and some Rokinon primes at 24, 35 and 50, plus an adapter for a Helios-44 58mm.

Not sure what I'll do yet for my coming-next-week APS-C Fujifilm camera.

@vampiress I find myself reaching for my 50mm F1.2 a lot, I should take the 35mm out more. And indeed go out with the camera more.
