As Jay says, Milwaukee was chosen for the GOP convention because Wisconsin is a key swing state. But Trump is furious that he couldn't cancel the votes of Black voters in Milwaukee in 2020 — so he mouths off.
Trump's team is more focused so far on building a sprawling network of "#ElectionIntegrity" #lawyers & #PollWatchers than on rounding up organizers & door knockers to reach voters.
It's a sign that 5 months before Election Day, the legal battle is underway —& that Trump PLANS to cry "rigged" if he loses, as it did after the #2020election & his #felony#convictions.
"We are going to have deployed #attorneys specifically for #Milwaukee ...& roaming attys for #Racine & #Kenosha," …the #RNC's WI dir for the unit told 50 #conservative activists last month on a training call.
#Republicans have filed complaints against #elections ofcls in #Milwaukee & #Madison — heavily Democratic cities — along w/the #Wisconsin Elections Commission. The complaints allege Republicans were denied #PollWorker positions in the state's April primary election.

When I had cable, I used to regularly watch #TopChef, but I haven't watched it in years. However, I resolved to watch this season since it takes place across #Wisconsin. I really enjoyed the first episode of S21 and I'm glad the chef I found most obnoxious was booted first.
The episode was a little light on the Wisconsin quotient, though someone on the production evidently thought the Hoan Bridge was pretty cool.

Today in Labor History February 3, 1910: Mary Harris "Mother" Jones addressed Milwaukee brewery workers during a two-month stint working alongside women bottle-washers while on leave from the United Mine Workers:
"Condemned to slave daily in the wash-room in wet shoes and wet clothes, surrounded with foul-mouthed, brutal foremen . . . the poor girls work in the vile smell of sour beer, lifting cases of empty and full bottles weighing from 100 to 150 pounds, in their wet shoes and rags, for they cannot buy clothes on the pittance doled out to them. . . . Rheumatism is one of the chronic ailments and is closely followed by consumption . . . An illustration of what these girls must submit to, one about to become a mother told me with tears in her eyes that every other day a depraved specimen of mankind took delight in measuring her girth & passing comments."
#OnThisDay in #history - in 1846, the Bridge Wars between Juneautown and Kilbourntown ended with the building of 3 bridges across the #Milwaukee River and a city charter combining the two towns into the larger city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
