Back to the sketching basics - capturing cups and glasses of drinks in loose line and watercolour. I didn’t have an appropriate tool to put the “north” up on the spot so I did it later — here you see some things I tried

First try - a red watercolour pencil. Cute but not enough of contrast
Another idea - white gelly pen - high contrast bun lost that signature red colour 🙈

Some more watercolor practice. I did a painting of me walking with my two kids on father's day. I'm definitely still learning watercolor, but there's a lot in this that I'm happy with. I can also count the number of times I've drawn people on a single hand, so that's new to me as well. The paints are Albrecht Durer pencils and I added some facial details with Polychromos on 140lb cold press. Thoughts on technique are always welcome!

The cavernous industrial interior of a spaceship. The walls appear to be made of some harsh, concrete-gray substance, and have various odd striations and geometric formations. The floor is flat and gray. In the lower right is a circular pipe or something in the wall; in the top right, there are three glowing vertical bars of greenish-white light. In the center is a huge round window through which is visible a black, deep-space sky full of stars and a blue planet. The planet has a slight blue color to it, and does not look like there is any life on it. Sitting on the lower part of the window is a gray cat with its tail hanging down, looking out through the window.

    My procrastination is part of the process. Let me explain. No matter how much time do I have for coffee and sketching, I’ll chat and be distracted until the final 15-20 mins. That’s when I feel the urge to paint and I indulge 😁 Finish the unfinished bits later on the same day when possible #mastoart #watercolour #sketchbook #urbansketching #sketching

    Overcast days and storefront displays create a noisy interplay of interiors and reflections.
