We planted some Japanese maple trees last Fall, and this is the first time I see their Spring growth. The leaves come in like folded paper fans and then they unfold. #JapaneseMaple
Around here we call the keys “helicopters” or helicopter seeds. They’re neat seeds, but a menace, as our house is between 2 silver maples which always seem to dump all their seeds directly into our rain gutters. 😢
What plans do all you lovely folk have (or don't have) today?
I have just placed last autumn's #japanesemaple seeds in a large seed tray outside & will look forward to what lovely #treasures emerge over the next few weeks & months.
I collect seeds from all over the place, so probably have enough to clothe half a mountainside eventually.
Meanwhile, the last of our snowdrops and crocus are still hanging in there, inbetween the emerging shoots of our #cottagegarden plants.
