Good morning and a happy Saturday to y'all.

It's the third near sleepless night with these sneezing bugs, but hopefully, the end is near...for them.

And before you all ask...no, I haven't been listening to Ms Swift's latest bucketload of meaningless drivel, all in the key of cha ching.

Meanwhile, I've been up with the lark trying to take some nice photos.

This is my attempt at catching the sunrise through a dandelion seedhead.

Not the sharpest of photos, but I am pleased how it turned out.

It's a breezy one, here in the valley.
Black crows are darting and flitting about like soot off a wayward candle.

Our magnificent tree has begun casting off its shell pink, boat shaped petals, and the delicate foliage of our is dancing in the wind.

Meanwhile, much closer to the earth, our have begun to open up.

Delicate in appearance but quite tough. These little beauties are well worth searching for.

Happy Wednesday from a dull and overcast valley.

Things are trying to bring cheer to our lives everywhere we look.

This is our only yellow flowered magnolia called Butterflies. It's new to us this year.

The blooms fade gracefully to more of a Jersey cream colour as they open but are at their most buttery when in bud.

Very pretty though.

Magnolia Butterlies is a cross between magnolia denudata 'Sawada's Cream and magnolia acuminata. It is said to be an upright and columnar hybrid with lemon yellow flowers, red stamens and a slight lemon scent. I have seen some decidedly dodgy looking photos on the Internet portraying all shades of yellow... As its our first year of having it, I will keep you all posted.

    Happy Saturday.

    What plans do all you lovely folk have (or don't have) today?

    I have just placed last autumn's seeds in a large seed tray outside & will look forward to what lovely emerge over the next few weeks & months.

    I collect seeds from all over the place, so probably have enough to clothe half a mountainside eventually.

    Meanwhile, the last of our snowdrops and crocus are still hanging in there, inbetween the emerging shoots of our plants.

    Solitary amethyst purple crocus flower stands proud in between the gloriously green undergrowth. The basal stalk is a deeper violet, and this colour bleeds upwards through the veins on the petals. The whole flower is encrusted with a myriad of water droplets of varying sizes. Although fleeting, crocus flowers are so beautiful and statuesque in the early spring garden.
