@BeAware@philip I totally understand, I really do. It kind of makes no sense. But I really don't know what happened with the long delays when updating the feeds. I hope they'll fix it in an update.
Make an app with a feature for the post composer that's a "hashtag drawer" that lets you individually save hashtags WITH CamelCase for easy re-use.
In the same app, add a feature to create timelines with "hashtag groups" similar to Sharkey's native "antenna" feature.
Icecubes has hashtag groups but it's limited to 4 hashtags which is fine. But the "recent hashtag" feature doesn't seem to save CamelCase.
Moshidon/Megalodon has the antenna timeline feature built into the UI of their app, but it only works for Misskey/Sharkey instances. I'm sure it can be worked into the app somehow to work for Mastodon. PLEASE.
@BeAware If I understand correctly, No. 2 is natively built into Mastodon. I don't think there's any limit (or it's high enough that I haven't experienced it yet)
E. g. for Moshidon/Megalodon you can add more hashtags to a group by going to the timelines menu, tapping on a hashtag timeline, than show advanced.
@FineFindus 🤔 That's great. Thanks for the info about Moshidon/Megalodon. However, it's not built into mastodon I think. You can follow one at a time and then see them on your home feed natively on the web, However, seeing them in groups isn't a thing natively AFAIK.🤷♂️
@AAKL@TechCrunch@Sarahp There are already certain apps that allow this, like Sora for iOS. That's pretty cool that they'll "officially" allow it though.
@BeAware@TechCrunch@Sarahp Yeah, you're right on that second graph. But the motives are different here. Bluesky was born out of Jack Dorsey's fatal mistake - selling Twitter. And Threads was born out of those ashes to take on Musk's X Frankenstein. But I still think federation for Meta is just a tool to en end, not a way of life.
Does @ivory have automatic timeline refresh? Asking for a friend...😝every time I download it, it hijacks mastodon links like it owns them. I use several Mastodon apps and I don't like this behavior so I tend to uninstall when I get annoyed with it.
@BeAware Live streaming is how it works on your mastodon website. Each posts comes in as the server receives them. Ours currently automatically refreshes every few minutes. We plan to add the streaming service in the future.
@ivory ah okay. I am looking for something like the Live streaming feature. I'm on a small instance and worried about the spam so I've been watching my federated timeline like a hawk, but refreshing every minute or so manually is tiring.
Maybe this will be good enough for the time until I can find an app with that feature or ya'll add it in the app.👍thanks for all the info. Much appreciated
