So, @ivory, with your new hashtag groups feature, will it have the ability to also exclude hashtags from a group?

Mastodon Advanced Web View has this functionality and it's very useful to filter spam in certain tags like Mastodon or Fediverse.

Anxiously awaiting the feature drop, as I don't have access to TestFlight.

The hashtags tab has received a makeover and now includes the ability to create Hashtag Lists! Curate multiple hashtags into a single timeline that you can access the same way you can access regular Lists. Currently available to try on Mac and iOS over on TestFlight.

The last beta featured our new share sheet extension and we know it’s been a long wait for the App Store release, but we are almost there! Trying to finish up a few more tasks so we can get this big update out ASAP.

@BeAware We already do that? When you hit the hashtag button in the toolbar of compose, we first display your featured hashtags and after that, your hashtag history.

@BeAware It should remember your CamelCased hashtag if it's still in your history or if you make it a featured hashtag. Here's a test showing it works as expected. I created a new post on a test account with 2 CamelCased hashtags and the second screenshot shows what pops up right when I tap the # key.

@BeAware Try to share screenshots or a video capture of it not behaving correctly. There's always a chance you are experiencing some bug we are unaware of.

Today I identified a limitation with Mastodon.

A person wishes not to see any politics in their feed, and kindly asked me to put content warnings on politics.

I replied that this would be counterproductive to my very reason for being on Mastodon, so they blocked me.

I respect their decision, but would it not be better if the person could choose not to see boosts of my posts without blocking me and ending all dialogue?

Update: This IS possible via the web interface. Awesome!

@randahl @setsly There are actually. If you go to your mute tab, you can edit details of a person you mute.

@ivory If I may give some input to your awesome app: Pinning posts to one's profile works great, but for someone like me, who pin several posts, it would be really great, if the pinned posts were collapsible, so they could take up less space when I visit my own page to proofread my latest post.

Currently, I have to scroll past four pinned posts again and again, which is somewhat time consuming.

@randahl We plan to redesign the profile views which includes having a special version of your own profile view (on your profile tab) that isn't just seeing your profile like everyone else does. Tons of design/UX improvements already done all over the app, but just waiting until there's time to implement them. It's tough being a small team. 🙂

@ivory If I may provide some input for your awesome app:

The information I am missing most from the profile view is the profile creation date. This field is essential for me when evaluating whether a new follower is a legitimate person, or one of those newly created profiles which Russia uses to influence the opinion.

If the profile is less than a week old, that becomes part of my evaluation of the profile’s legitimace. On the other hand, three year old profiles are almost never spammers.

If you use Ivory for Mastodon, could you check if you are seeing a 🎬 icon next to my profile picture, or if it is only shown as part of my name?

For other accounts I see, Ivory moves any icon placed in the profile name up to the profile picture as a badge, which I think is a nice feature.

But for some reason, it does not work for my own icon, at least not when I view myself.

Perhaps @ivory has a bug?

@ivory is there any hope, Ivory will implement thread posting, allowing users to write a long text, which is automatically broken up into a multi-post thread, so we can compose and post the entire text at once?

Right now, I am composing long posts as individual posts, and people start replying when my 1/3 is out, while I am still working on 2/3 and 3/3. Confusing for the followers and not ideal.

@randahl Nope. The design is pretty much done. But we have a huge list of other tasks to get through and our new compose view is going to be the work of a new app in itself. It's going to take time, but will be great when it's done.

Does @ivory have automatic timeline refresh? Asking for a friend...😝every time I download it, it hijacks mastodon links like it owns them. I use several Mastodon apps and I don't like this behavior so I tend to uninstall when I get annoyed with it.

@BeAware Yes it does (but not live streaming yet). And it's not the client hijacking links. It's Mastodon.social using universal links and has Ivory set as one of the clients that can accept them. @BeAware Live streaming is how it works on your mastodon website. Each posts comes in as the server receives them. Ours currently automatically refreshes every few minutes. We plan to add the streaming service in the future.

We are closer to shipping Ivory v1.9! The big feature for this release is the ability to quote posts. If you'd like to test it out, jump back on the TestFlight version of Ivory. We've opened up some more TestFlight beta slots here as well:
