Way back in the 1980s, when I was in college, we had a tent city on the UC Berkeley campus to protest the Apartheid regime in South Africa. Lots of parallels to what's been happening on campuses recently with the Palestinian solidarity protests, including violent police crack downs.
During this time, author Kurt Vonnegut came to speak in support of the movement, and against Apartheid. I don't remember what he said then. But here's an amusing clip of him talking about the writing process, explaining the different types of character arcs a story can have.
The second and FINAL #SCOTUS opinion today: Snyder v. US. Written by Justice Kavanaugh. The vote is 6-3. Jackson dissents, joined by Sotomayor and Kagan.
Geidner:
The final SCOTUS decision today is Snyder v. US. Kavanaugh has the court's 6-3 decision on ideological grounds, holding that the Section 666 bribery statute does not apply to "gratuities" given for public officials' past acts. Jackson writes the liberals' dissent.
@GottaLaff I’m not too easily triggered. The right seems to think they can change meanings of common words like “opinion” or “fact” and we all have to accept it.
That triggers me. #EndTheOccupation
"It's not plausible that the shooter could not have seen that the car was occupied by civilians, including children," an investigation of the five-year-old #Palestinian girl's death found.
Gaza protest t-shirt - I came up with the design, and a vendor of Etsy produces and sells it. Still for sale on Etsy - see link below. (Full disclosure - I get no material benefit from sales, only the vendor does.)

The phrase "From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free" has caused a lot of confusion - some of it genuine and some caused by willful manipulation.
I'm trying to come up with a graphic that can get across what most of those supporting Palestinian freedom mean by it - not expulsion of Jews but freedom and equality for all living there.
Below is a graphic that might end up on a t-shirt.
"As long as Israel is killing Palestinian civilians in apparent contravention of international law, the UK. government has a responsibility to stop selling it arms."
