#MastoArt#TraditionalArt#animalart#kleineKunstklasse
Watercolor portrait of the wonderful Lyra. She is an art aficionado herself and loves to join her owner on streams and in videos to supervise his creative process. Lucky me, she approved of her portrait upon arrival and let it be displayed for everyone to see.
Another study from last week: two emperors, one chinstrap penguin, a rockhopper and a humboldt. I only used my pencil textured brush, and they look a bit more cartoon-ish this time.
Huh, apparently I never posted any of the #weevils I did earlier this year here. But! I just finished these two, about 3 months after starting them, and I am quite pleased with how they turned out. These were done directly in graphite on A3 paper, then I put a pretty solid wash of Burnt Sienna ink over them, then forgot about them for a while, now finished with gouache.
Still not done with painting crabs, here one I finished on Sunday :) I used my ink brush for the black and am very pleased with this - th ablack ink is just so much darker than the black gouache, makes the contrast pop much more than it otherwise would have!
i drew this with nassau markers, which you can get for two dollars per ten pack. just as a hint to those whiney-ass AI bros who keep talking about art being gatekept or whatever.
Another one of my smallish ink drawings blown up to A3 and painted over in gouache. I finished this one before I fell into zine making frenzy (or over Easter when the shops were closed? not sure anymore) but forgot to post it, so here it goes.
The process of painting over blown up versions of my own drawings is still very enjoyable.
DM me if you want it, 50€ incl. shipping, A3 size.
I painted an Eocetus schweinfurthi the other day. It's odd that there weren't any proper life reconstructions of it made so far. A lot of Eocetus material got lost during WW2 but we know what it is related to and we even have a skull.
More adventures in taking my time to properly ink things... in this case with a very fine brush.
After a photo of a Enicospilus sp., Ichneumonidae, Ophioninae wasp by Andreas Kay (RIP), whose Flickr stream is absolutely mind blowing if you are into looking at insects.
For sale, dm me if you want it, A4 size, 50€ incl. shipping.
