"Alright Mr Jackson, I'm ready for my close-up." A different take on 'a bird's eye view,' and a more typical portrait shot, of the Common Whitethroat. Taken on different days in early May but in the same area at Brandon Marsh near Coventry, these pics may feature the same individual, who was kind enough to give me a couple of brief photo opportunities.

This pretty Hooded Warbler my wife and I saw earlier this month in Halifax County, NC met both of our most valued warbler encounter goals: 1) sang prolifically 2) ignored us completely.
A Prothonotary Warbler pretends to be a woodpecker as it inspects a potential nest cavity. Careful research has shown a million encounters with this warbler is insufficient for most humans.
