Love you to the moon and back. Saw an Eurasian Collared Dove this evening.

Besides the lovely juvenile chiffchaff (one of previous posts) I saw a Icterine Warbler this morning. Took some time and searching before I could actually see it. It loves to hide high in a tree and sing.

Near the woods there is a business park. Till a few years ago a part contained old green houses and a patch of open land. A pair of oystercatchers did nest on that patch. Last year the green houses and open patch were replaced by a large ugly warehouse. The oystercatchers came back and found there usual nesting spot gone. They made a nest right next to the ugly warehouse.

While the partner is on the nest this oystercatcher is keeping an eye on those humans.

I did manage to correctly identify this common chiffchaff though.

This is probably one of my favorite pics I've ever taken - I'm really proud how it turned out, couldn't contain my excitement. "Birds in flight" (BIF) are a unique challenge in photography - the shutter speed, lighting, timing, & place all need to align to get a good BIF photo - & even then it doesn't always work out. You get a lot of bad to okay shots but then sometimes you get a great shot. I am slowly but surely getting more skills to freeze life in a single split second - I've been practicing every day for months for BIF. A little luck doesn't hurt either.

Blue Jays have always had a special place in my heart. Aside from being the little gay cousin corvid, they are brilliant in their colors & extremely intelligent - having been observed using tools to solve puzzles & get food. North American Blue Jays also are skilled mimickers - imitating everything from owls to hawks.

This weekend is cuckoo… went for a walk with wife and youngest son. I always carry binoculars and camera with me. Very handy because a cuckoo showed up and took a pose.

Juvenile Dunnock in the garden. Comes with parent. Recognisable because it shake its feathers by times to beg for food.

ignore the quality, this lil guy was super far away and this is zoomed in, but this chickadee did a BLEP with their tiny little tongue and I'm LIVING FOR IT.
