The #pollinator and the poisonous plant. A Common Carder #Bee visiting a Woody #Nightshade (a.k.a. #Bittersweet) flower at Brandon Marsh last month. Adapted for buzz pollination, the flower releases pollen when a visiting Bee vibrates her wing muscles at just the right frequency.
Pollination takes place as #Bees gather pollen to feed their larvae. The resulting berries are toxic to us, but provide food for birds.
Don't forget to leave out fresh, clean potable water for your #bird and #pollinator friends during #heatwaves. They get thirsty too! I use smooth stones and marbles in my #BeeWatering station, to keep them from drowning.
