I really wish there was a single player game that feels and plays like an MMO.
When I say that, I don't mean I want to control more than one character. I mean I want to control 1 character and have a party or NPCs to do big battles with and have many gameplay systems to interact with.
RIGHT when I decide I want to get some ESO in, the servers decide to die....🤦♂️ Guess it's back to Fallout for now.🤷♂️
If only Bethesda would listen to my pleas and turn on Fediverse sharing on Threads, I might have found this out sooner.....but they have ignored me so far unfortunately.
@BeAware yeah I finished my 76 weeklies before the reset tomorrow and then was gonna get my daily event tickets and writs from ESO but servers down. When I checked the maintenance schedule yesterday and saw “no scheduled maintenance this week” I said “yeah right”
So, today I'm pretty free and have 2 choices of games to play.
1 of them I've been playing pretty regularly. Fallout 76. There's a new season out and an event going on right now that's pretty cool.
The other is ESO. I downloaded it again the other day. I have some anxiety about getting back into it cause I haven't played in months and I have that ADHD thing that gives me anxiety about restarting things I previously abandoned....😬though ESO also has an event going on right now that seems cool.
Help. Do I try to get over the anxiety and jump on ESO? Or fall back to the "safe" game of Fallout 76 and do that? CHOICES!!!😩
@BeAware I know the feel. At this point I have all current platforms available to me in some form and there's so many games lol. In your case, if today is that open, why not start with ESO and see if it pulls you in enough to continue for some time/the day. If it doesn't then you have 76 to Fallout back on.
@BeAware@blackknight95857669 Funny, I just hopped back into ESO yesterday. It's been easy to get back into my questing routine. The event isn't complicated either, get the cake from the backer and eat a slice once a day for tickets.
Well crap that reminds me I haven't spent my tickets....
Well, while I wait for my favorite Fallout 76 mods to update after the newest patch, I'm re-downloading ESO to see if I can successfully "get back into it".
I have this stimulation issue called ADHD which makes it hard to do the long, drawn out quests with lots of dialogue. The issue is, that's the best parts of ESO....😩I wish I could shut off the quest voices and just read the text. It'd be faster for me.
I did find an addon that claimed to do that, but it muted all dialogue across the game, which is not what I want.
PS. I hate the fact that modders add so much functionality to games with missing features like text chat. How do you have a PC-based multiplayer online game without text chat in 2024? If it was integrated into the game like it's supposed to be, I wouldn't need to wait for modders🤦♂️
@BeAware Omg same 😂. I downloaded F76 last night and was so excited about playing. It booted up and I walked around for about 4 minutes before getting distracted by my phone. Next thing I knew, my PS5 went into Rest Mode 😅
I'm watching this video by Folding ideas on why it's rude to suck at #wow
Very insightful and something that really turned me off from the game. I used to be a Raid Main Tank and loved tanking when the game was new-ish. But the greater expectations of perfection and optimization even in random dungeons has fully killed my interest in it.
@BeAware@Imperor I've tried ESO so many times. It's a great game hampered by a rather lackluster combat system and a min/max playerbase similar to WoW. Gaming culture of today is absolutely shit.
I feel like I have successfully shed my ESO anxiety for the most part and jumped in. Gotta figure out some stuff from where I left off, but I'm ready to get back into this fantastic game!
