I found out that hummingbirds have a routine. If you wait 10 to 15 minutes, they will come back to that bush, in case you missed your first shots. Be patient! I photographed this one yesterday. They are common here on Vancouver Island.
I’m literally obsessed with the way the pine tree holds light. The pine needles, the leaking sap, the spiderwebs - they all contribute to a magical ever changing light that is so much fun to try to capture. My family wonders how I can be out there taking pix of the same bird in the same tree. Obviously it’s NEVER the same but they don’t get it 😆 #nature#wildlife#birdwatching#birds#birdphotography#hummingbird
I spent 3 hours this weekend by a bush with bright pink flowers that attracts hummingbirds. I was determined to get my first decent image of a hummingbird. I stood there waiting for them to show up and each time one did, I tried to frame that tiny bird that flies as fast as a bee. Other factors to consider for a good photo were the light, background, focus points, shutter speed and ISO. Patience is key.
