Stunning cardinals seen this afternoon. At one point there were 7 to 10 cardinals in the trees in my backyard.

I paid a worrying amount of money so I could take this picture. Was it worth it

No, of course not. But, some day I'll take a picture and it'll make it all worth it. Here's to me, photography, and my new camera.

A female northern cardinal sits on an old fence post. It's a small, mostly grey bird with a hint of red on its chest and a red crest on its head. Its beek is short, pointy, and pink. The sun is shining from off-camera to the right and is very low in the sky. Out-of-focus shrubbery populate the background, giving the shadows a softer look.
