One thing many people don't realize about biking is that it's sometimes an option for people who have trouble walking.

Bill Walton suffered with pain that made walking arduous, but his bike gave him mobility and joy.

It was cloudy when I took the bike out for a ride, but it changed to clear blue skies with a very nice sunset.

Cynics: It's so hard to change things in France. They'll fight and protest against any change.

Mayor Anne Hidalgo: Hold my wine 🍷. I'm remaking Paris into a cycling capital.

If you build a great cycling network, people will get out of their cars and you'll have a more vibrant city for it 🚲

I wish the bike trails in Massachusetts had better maps. What is nearby? Where are the landmarks? I keep trying to get an idea of where there are trails near me but the maps show - it's this area of town, kind of near a river or it's parallel to this road but best of luck finding where to enter. I want to see it on a satellite map. Where can I conveniently (and legally) pick it up?

I recently got to ride this fun trike at the math museum in NYC. Reading about it further, I learned that “for just about every shape of wheel there’s an appropriate road to produce a smooth ride, and vice versa,” as one article put it.

2024 Book 1: Utopia for Realists by Rutger Bregman.

Insightful but ultimately depressing because, despite seeming particularly realistic, it feels like we're even farther away from it ever happening at scale than when this first published in 2014. ☹️

2024 Book 15: Bicycle/Race: Transportation, Culture, & Resistance by Adonia E. Lugo, PhD

Part memoir, part case study — Dr. Lugo candidly lays bare the challenges she faced in tackling race's impact on predominantly white advocacy efforts, connecting dots that are relevant way beyond biking. An occasionally frustrating but always insightful read.
