The #NationalUnity leader delayed his departure due to an Israeli military
operation that rescued four hostages but killed at least 274 people in #Gaza and wounded 698
Israeli Jewish-supremacist Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir: "Every house in #Gaza has a picture of Al-Aqsa Mosque. We must break into their holiest site."
Why isn't this monster sanctioned by the western leaders? How far does he need to go before they take action against this JewishLKK leader?
Can we treat this monster like holocaust deniers at least?or is it too much to ask?
@faab64@palestine@israel I'm from Mexico. Almost all the important churches built in colonial times were built on top of prehispanic religious centers ("pyramids"). The main cathedral in Mexico city was built atop the so called "Major Temple" (temple mayor) and there are some churches, like the one at Cholula, where you can see the base of the "pyramid" beneath the catholic church.
@heretical_i I honestly don't understand why this POS is not being sanctioned by the world.
Remember many years ago then Jörg Haider was about to become the chancellor of Austria, the whole Europe (and US) went up in arms against him. He was far far less extreme than this POS and other members of Netanyahu's coalition government.
@faab64 B/c "Israel". 🤗😎 It's in an incredibly important geostrategic location, right? The western world's leaders know that. If these people want to believe it's because they're Jews, the west plays along and gives them a 'long (genocidal) leash' to play on... Wouldn't want our zionist nuclear armed 'frankenstein' to turn on us like AQ and ISIS.
Israeli minister of freak, Ben Gvir's car crashed and rolled.
He was transported to the hospital
He was fleeing the scene of an aljedged knife attack.
In addition to the minister, the minister's daughter, the minister's driver, one of his security guards and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident were evacuated from the scene. All are in a light condition and fully conscious.
Total support must be given to our heroic fighters operating in #Gaza, who acted excellently against a Gazan mob that tried to harm them. Today it was proven that the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza is not only madness while our abductees are being held in the Strip under substandard conditions, but also endangers the #IDF soldiers. This is another clear reason why we must stop transferring this aid, which is in fact aid to harm the IDF soldiers and oxygen to #Hamas.
This monster is justify slaughter of over 100 starving civilians who were desperately trying to get some flour and food for their families.
Cut a civilian population off from the material necessities of survival.
Allow in only a trickle of aid, less than 1/6th of the previous (already inadequate) status quo. With only a fraction of this fraction reaching anywhere in the north.
Open fire on the desperate, starving people seeking food from one of the rare aid convoys, perhaps even sending tanks to drive over the dead and wounded.
Blame victims for their own deaths.
Use their deaths to justify more genocidal collective punishment.
@faab64@palestine@Lassielmr excellent if that is the case, but I can still envision Ben-Givr and his mob agitating on Mount Temple as he has been doing. The Israeli economy has fallen by 20% plus which is huge and I agree they’ll be struggling soon unless USA shovels in more. Sadly I think Biden will continue to do that.
#Israel / Ben-Gvir: “lethal force should be used against women and children approaching the fence”
During a cabinet meeting, far-right Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir clashed with #IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi over rules of engagement along the #Gaza border. Ben-Gvir argued that clear directives were needed to prevent another #Hamas attack, saying lethal force should be used against women and children approaching the fence as potential militants.
The heated exchange reflects tensions between the military and the new right-wing government over policies toward Palestinians, with hawkish ministers pushing for tougher measures and clearly illegal measures, despite warnings from security officials and the international community.
@ia42@tzafrir@oatmeal@israel@palestine So...for two weeks before an attack that the IDF had been warned about, they quit patrolling and allowed explosives to be piled along the wall. That's interesting...
[cont’d] Supreme Court rejected petition against the appointment of Ben Gvir as Minister of National Security.
Justice Amit criticized Ben Gvir's past and current conduct, but emphasized that the minister declared before #Netanyahu and the Court that he has changed his ways, and that Netanyahu has the authority to make decisions based on political considerations.
"The Prime Minister has the authority to consider also political, coalition, and party considerations, within the framework of his decision to appoint a person to the role of minister in his government. The complexity of life in general and political life in particular presents a wide range of possible appointments, including those that clash with the purpose of integrity and public confidence that is required. Therefore, there is room - and even a necessity - to exercise discretion. But this will be done with care, and intervention will be in exceptional cases."
Haaretz Editorial: "The freedom from arbitrary arrest marks a line between real, freedom-seeking democracies and 'pseudo democracies.' The police under Ben Gvir’s shadow cannot be relied to give freedom of expression the importance it warrants"
"While the media hides from the Israeli public the extent of the horrors in the Strip, excludes voices opposing the war from the studios and mobilizes to raise "public morale" and support the war, the police persecute the opposition, which is trying to fulfill its exact role: to oppose the government's policy and offer it alternatives that do not involve dead bodies"
"Haaretz is widely considered Israel's leading liberal news source, but it has published and promoted some of the most harmful propaganda in support of Israel’s genocide in Gaza."
WP whitewash Netanyahu again: #Netanyahu dissolves war cabinet but plans to keep far right sidelined
🔶️ #BenGvir and #Smotrich’s continued influence, even from outside the war cabinet, was partly the reason for the resignation of war cabinet members Benny #Gantz and Gadi #Eisenkot last week. The two centrists said they joined the cabinet to ensure the war was conducted responsibly, but have since concluded they couldn’t work with Netanyahu as long as he refused to commit to a day-after strategy for Gaza.
🔶️ The departure came after a string of military leaders made rare public statements airing their grievances with Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza, with many saying that Israel cannot afford to continue it indefinitely, especially with tensions escalating on the Lebanese border.
🔶️ Brig. Gen. Efraim Sneh, a former deputy minister of defense, said that Israel has achieved its military objectives of degrading the majority of Hamas capabilities and can afford to declare an end to the war in Gaza, get back the hostages, and redirect its focus to distancing #Hezbollah forces from its northern border.
🔶️ “Israel is in an unacceptable situation, in which a big part of the country has been deserted,” he said. He added that, while “Israel’s forces are stretched thin between Gaza and the Lebanese border,” Netanyahu’s far-right coalition partners are exacerbating the situation by blocking hundreds of thousands of Palestinian day laborers from entering Israel and enacting punitive measures against the #WestBank-based Palestinian Authority.
🔶️ The #IDF is moving closer to a larger war with Hezbollah, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, a spokesman for the Israeli military, said in a video message Sunday. Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified in recent weeks at the Lebanese border. “Hezbollah’s increasing aggression is bringing us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation — one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region,” Hagari said. After an Israeli strike killed a Hezbollah commander last week, a Hezbollah official said the militant group would retaliate with increased operations “in intensity, strength, quantity and quality.”
This is pure terror, it nothing to do with Hamas or Gaza, these are Israeli brown shirts spreading terror by protection and support of IDF and #JewishKKK minister #BenGvir
Settlers continue to destroy Palestinian property, burning cars in Barqa, east of #Ramallah, after burning the land. Settlers are also attacking vehicles in Beitin, north of Ramallah.
Itamar Ben-Gvir rages at Israel's police chief for protecting Gaza aid convoys (Haaretz, 2024-05-20)
———
“Sources say that Israel's national security minister was surprised by the large number of police officers at a West Bank checkpoint, and raged at the police commissioner two days later because special units were assigned to safeguard Gaza aid convoys”
… No matter how “large” the numbers really are, I sincerely wish those police officers all the best. 🖖
Ben-Gvir insists on sacking Gallant over post-war Gaza 'control' comments
"Ben-Gvir, notorious for his anti-Palestine hate and pro-war remarks, was reacting to Gallant's comments in which he said he was opposed to Israeli military control or taking responsibility for the governance of Gaza after the ongoing war"
"Gallant said the current military invasion in Gaza needed to be followed by political action"
Ma'ariv newspaper describes the situation as: There is a new prime minister in “Israel”.
They add that in practice, Benjamin Netanyahu has become the servant of his master, Itamar #BenGvir, and this raises the obvious question: To what extent has Netanyahu deteriorated?
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir appeared in front of the cameras a few days ago while leaving the Prime Minister’s Office, acting Prime Minister, and announced in an unambiguous tone: “I warned the Prime Minister that we will not enter #Rafah, nor will there is an illegal deal.
The Prime Minister heard the words, and promised that "Israel" would enter Rafah, and promised that the war would continue, and promised that there would be no illegal deal.
These words and tone of voice leave no room for doubt in the heart of every listener. There is a new prime minister in the State of #Israel.
This raises the obvious question: To what extent has Netanyahu deteriorated? It has reached the point where even a response from a prime minister, in order to preserve his dignity, is not uttered.
Netanyahu, despite thousands of disagreements, knows what the majority of the people want: the release of detainees, and he also knows what is important and useful to the people.
But he follows Ben Gvir and Bezalel #Smotrich, because that is what is good politically for Netanyahu for obvious reasons.
Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has expressed support for an Israeli sniper who shot and killed 13-year-old Palestinian child Rami Hamdan Al-Halhuli at the Shu'fat refugee camp checkpoint an hour ago.
