Aww. #RIP Roger Corman, the Oscar-winning “King of the Bs” who helped turn out such low-budget classics as “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Attack of the Crab Monsters” and gave many of Hollywood’s most famous actors and directors early breaks, has died. He was 98.
the anti-fluoride people are back... I mean, if you like anti-vax stuff why not? It's the same swindle.
"precious bodily fluids" and all that.
I hate the taste of mint so I'm always looking for toothpaste that tastes better... I was horrified to discover that if you go of the beaten path with toothpaste there are 100s of brands with "no fluoride" which only a tiny number of people really need... Be careful if you use a "crunchy" brand ... fluoride is amazing.
@futurebird If anyone knows of a fluoride toothpaste without saccharine, I'd love to know about it. Edit: Looks like Tom's Strawberry Fluoride fits that bill too. Trying this. Saccharine tastes vile to me.
“Paul Manafort, the longtime Republican strategist and chairman of Trump’s 2016 campaign, who had assumed unpaid role advising party officials on the nominating convention, has stepped aside.
Manafort’s move came after NYT reported that he had been on the ground in Milwaukee last week for planning meetings for the convention, as well as a Washington Post story that said he was involved in work connected to foreign officials and businesses.”
I canceled my #Amazon account a few years ago, and haven’t looked back. Yeah, it’s a little harder to find that thing, and I may be paying more (but maybe not), but my money is mostly going directly to the producers of the products, or at least I’m spreading the wealth around more evenly.
I wish people could just try buying things elsewhere (and less often). You do have a choice.
Everyone is talking about Clarence Thomas’ blatant corruption. Let’s not forget we still don’t know who paid off Brett Kavanaugh’s $92,000 country club fees, $200,000 credit card debt, and $1.2 million mortgage.
@Strandjunker All of them are up for sale. It's just a matter of shipping time. We're a fascist state already; the ones who aren't bought will be replaced with people who are.
@Strandjunker Connecting the general public with the sense of dread which should come from seeing the systems that people depend upon become corrupt. Shivers should travel down the spine, foreboding of the disaster to come. .
@GottaLaff read all 3 chapters. Throughly enjoyed. Was moved. 🥹. Feel happy for you. Am lovingly jealous. And selfishly, am grateful to know your participation here won’t change. Be well. Be peaceful. Be happy. Hugs to Hammy. Love to the boys and the Mr.
@rbreich
A dollar spent on buybacks is also a dollar less spent to fairly compensate the people who do the work that creates the value of the stock price.
@GottaLaff
Can we also note, with utter amazement, "And some 70,000 square feet of retail space remained vacant because it had been designed without access to foot or vehicle traffic." 🤔🙄😳😬😲
@GottaLaff Why conservatives prefer an underfunded IRS: from the article: "That the IRS did not initiate an audit of the 2008 worthlessness deduction puzzled the experts in partnership taxation. Many assumed the understaffed IRS simply had not realized what Trump had done until the deadline to investigate it had passed. “I think the government recognized that they screwed up,” and then audited the merger transaction to make up for it, Jackel said."
As Trump’s classified docs prosecution goes forward, now w no pretense of trial before the election, Judge #Cannon appears poised to permit him to use pub hearings in the case to sound his campaign themes. 1/… #legal
