I got updates! I got my hands on a copy of Link's Awakening. I forgot how awesome this machine is.

The only good game was Mario Tennis.

Going to have to disagree, Teleroboxer and Red Alert were awesome.

foldor ,

The Wario Land game was top tier. Probably the best game on the system.

TubularTittyFrog ,

Nah, Mario clash was fun

Yeah this game was great... I must have played it after other Sonic games had come out. I never knew this was his first appearance. Such a cool piece of history!

Did the car have windshield wipers that you had to turn on when you got mud on the windshield or am I mixing this up with a different game?

olutukko , (edited )

I would imagine so considering the fact that the picture posted has muddy windshield and windahield wipers on action

edit: yeah does have that feature! I tried the game on archive.org it's pretty fun

og Counter Strike (1.6) available on native linux. It plays well even on toaster and lan play, we still have populated pub servers in South East Asia.

Another favourite of mine is og Doom 1 and Doom 2, if you want to modernize (and better mod support) the game, use gzdoom source port.

Chip's Challenge. It is a remake, but it was remade by the same guy, and it's free!

Serious question. Would Star Citizen be used in a video like this in 20 years.

I got mine off amazon because of the return policy. But you can get it on AliExpress as someone else stated. Its their official listing from what I understand.

Why not an old gba? More buttons, nicer from factor.

v1605 OP ,

Space and simplicity. There is not a lot of room in a GBA so a custom PCB would probably be needed from the start. Also the DMG display PCB is basically trash if the screen dies, which is all you need for this project. The GBA equivalent would need a donor motherboard.

Great episode

bundes_sheep , in Google Is Killing Retro Dodo & Other Independent Sites

Google Search brought in lots of revenue (comparatively), but in return they became dependent on the whims of a crazy-large tech company that has turned the corner into a full-on IBM-style corporation. I've seen this kind of thing happen with people advertising local businesses on Facebook and then the algorithm killing their income overnight. You have to treat it as a large risk to your business and do everything you can think of to mitigate it. Which maybe they were, I don't know, but I wouldn't want my business to be reliant on the good nature of a huge tech company like Google.
