I think it's the NES for me too. It was my dad's, and he kept it in good condition. He mostly only had sports games for it though, and Super Mario Bros. I've heard the NES came with a combo cart for SMB and Duck Hunt, but we don't have Duck Hunt and Mario is on its own cartridge. We also don't have a R.O.B. I have no idea what that says about what time period or in what package combo he might have bought the NES.
Most recently, I got a copy of Super Mario Bros 3 and I've been playing through that. I also still like buying new games for it whenever someone like Limited Run publishes them. When I was there last, I bought Alwas Awakening and it sure feels wild to be playing a game on the NES that's also sold on Steam.
This is a must grab for me. I have all the Star Wars games available for switch (with the exception of the live service game that recently released). If this gets a physical cartridge I’ll be picking one up
@Thassodar Rofl, OUCH. That one definitely stings.
There were maybe two PS3 games I liked. One I still hold out hopes on getting a western port on the remake. I don't even remember what the other was because I hate even turning my PS3 on.
To be clear, that's PS3, not "PlayStation" as the original post says though. PS1 and PS2 had incredible libraries.
Ah but what about now? The PS5 has a pretty lackluster list of titles if I'm not mistaken, especially compared to the PS4. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm willing to bet by 2017, 4 years after the PS4's release, it had a bigger library than the PS5 does now 4 years into its lifespan.
@Thassodar I stopped even trying with the PS4 and PS5. They're just PCs in disguise. (Really the PS3 was too, but it was also a bad disguise that improperly cooled it which is why I'm too paranoid even to use mine.) At this point they don't really even have any exclusives I could possibly care about and I already have a PC, so it's like I have enhanced versions of everything but the Switch all in one single box on my desk.
Still, since this was retrogaming themed we can't ignore PS1 and PS2.
Wait was that a gameplay trailer? I kept waiting for it to do the thing where it switched from footage from the original source to footage from the collection and it never did. If all this collection is is someone packaging up some roms with absolutely zero changes then fuck that and fuck them.
What is their intended market? I see no real use for such a box. Heck, even Linux will probably come to a crawl on that box. And you can probably build something ARM based for the same price with eight gigabytes of RAM and running circles around the 386.
Looks great in the video. A super short clip of the battle system, is it still first person view? I would be interested in this if it goes on Stream or PS4.
In general, I'm a fan of games getting remakes to keep them available.
