@philip_cardella The way they act towards people who don’t think exactly like them in every single way is pretty demonstrative of what a terrible system it would be.
They come off as more left authoritarian to me lately although I’ve definitely described it as extreme libertarianism, too.
@philip_cardella We are definitely on the same page. I would appreciate if people of that mindset would stop dragging on the rest of us who’d also like to defeat fascism, so, yeah, I get why you want to talk about it.
The dangerous part is, whenever we try to push fascism down, fascism lite steps in to pull it back up. The people who get paid to "fight" monsters are actively feeding those same monsters to protect their job security.
The DNC would rather help the GOP win, than let the people push them to make policy changes that could threaten their corporate purse strings.
No matter wtf you make of kolektiva or anarchy in general, remember that warning. Even if you think it sounds completely nuts.
@philip_cardella I think in a good social democracy, we can be sure and preserve personal freedoms like how to live our personal lives, who to love, how to make sure women and non-white people and not wealthy people have the same rights. Libertarianism leaves it too up to chance for me, and in some cases of the anarchists I’ve encountered here, mob rule.
I’m for a taxation rate like Germany’s for ex. Taxation and administration of a state healthcare system requires a state.🙂
all terminology is coopted by its enemies, they associate all manner of lies and misinterpretations with the word, then in the common understanding it becomes "bad," or at least they avoid the term because they don't want to deal with the drama
"defund the police" is about interventions that don't have to involve force
but (and granted the terminology is clumsy because it's too easy to do this for those who don't understand the term) it becomes "just remove all police, lol"
"woke" was originally a call to be aware of racist areas and racist thinking around you. now on the right it's mutated into "liberals bad," you can't even define the word anymore, it's endlessly reappropriated to mean almost anything

sometimes coopting words is good. "queer" was originally a slur, now it's used with pride
all i know is it means our terminology just has to continually evolve, to stay one step ahead of this endless game
