I reviewed Nathan Wade’s unsealed divorce filings—including documents labeled “sensitive,” which are not available online.
Here’s what I found
Aside from the credit card statements filed last week, the docs do not appear to provide additional evidence of a relationship between #FaniWillis & Nathan Wade.
@GottaLaff
Instinctually, I knew it when I first heard about this and I thought, who cares, It has no bearing on the case even if true. And I suspected it was just more diversionary tactics that would backfire. Correct again.
Nor do they provide further evidence supporting the claim that Willis financially benefitted from Wade’s hiring.
The docs paint a portrait of a contentious divorce and mounting frustration on the part of Joycelyn Wade’s counsel as Nathan Wade failed to comply with discovery obligations.
Wade was eventually held in contempt for failing to turn over documents.
It’s possible that future filings in the case could support the claims made in Roman’s motion to disqualify.
But based on what I’ve reviewed today, the unsealed filings in the divorce case do not contain further evidence of an alleged relationship & financial impropriety.
Notably, Joycelyn Wade’s team indicated in a statement today that they intend to question Nathan Wade about his conduct and finances at a hearing in the divorce case scheduled for Jan. 31. #legal
As mult journalists report that there's no there there in Nate Wade's divorce case, remember Mike Roman, Trump aide who 1st made this claim, was Trump's compromise enforcer before he was his fake elector plotter
Stephen fowler:
The fully unsealed publicly available docket doesn’t show much except a divorce case w $ (& Wade’s alleged dragging out of turning over finances) at the center of it
The docs avail in person don’t show any additional evidence of a relationship either
@GottaLaff
To me the most damning accusation, and of course I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, is that Wade is extremely underqualified to work on a big case like this. That his experience is only with a small-time law firm which “mostly deals with traffic tickets”, something like that.
@GottaLaff This is a good lesson just for me personally. I fell into the trap, and just assumed it was true without knowing where the evidence came from (if any) because she was a person in power.
I like to think this is what makes reasonable people different from cultists. We see our mistake and say, "Damn, that was dumb. Gonna try not to do that again."
Thank you once again for all your work gathering all this information.
