Berkeley Earth, one of the leading global climate analysis centers, has just issued a new report.

Their forecast is that 2024 will likely finish as the hottest year on record, with only a slight chance of a lower outcome. Expected final range of this year's average worldwide temperatures are from ~1.4C above the pre-industrial baseline to ~1.7C above.

    @breadandcircuses @RARohde I follow him as well as many others who keep me up to date on the climate crisis. I have been concerned about this since the 80s and have been an activist for many years and have made some progress in my local community to work towards zero carbon goals. However, I wonder if I am just torturing myself with the daily news that we have failed miserably to stem this tide of destruction.
